All my smart bulbs, cameras and mains switches are offline even after rebooting all the devices and router.Â
Â
Anyone else got the same? I'm wondering if TAPO has a problem with it's servers or something.Â
Thanks!
Ah, thanks mate! 👍
Â
I'll have to have a look again, later on.Â
Â
Mine also appear to be working.
Mine are ok
mine's ok too
Mine are also OK.
But this is just one of the reasons why I'm gradually swapping over to Shelly relays.... they can either be controlled either via the cloud or over your LAN so you still have control even if your internets is gone.
Four smart plugs all fine
They went out for about 10 minutes at lunchtime.
Thanks all. Did another router reboot and all is well now. No different to what I did earlier a few times, so no idea why all is good now though. Lol
Mine went off yesterday afternoon, I think that was down to me drilling through the upstairs lighting circuit and tripping the RCD though.
Big hole in the bedroom wall now where I had to dig the cable out to stop it shorting 😖Â

If using Home Assistant, Tapo / Kasa are locally polled so should still work without the cloud connection, though Tapo in particular I think need cloud account to set them up. Older Kasa stuff didn't need that which is why I still hang on to those.

My life is too short to be dicking around with HA so i just have a Pi Zero that runs various scriptsÂ
HA is using python-kasa under the hood I believe anyway, but still if using Tapo it needs credentials for the cloud. At least to set it up.
