Specifically, if you had a previous condition that was never fully diagnosed, prior to joining BUPA. Whats the chances that they will say that your not covered for any thing similar? I have misplaced my documents, and as i have been off work ill, where the policy was started as a bonus, i cant lay my hands on a copy!

If you got the cover through work the terms and conditions are likely to be different (and probably better) than a personal policy.

The easiest way to get an answer is ring BUPA. Did you get a helpline number?

Afraid i have misplaced the lot! going to try going to work tomorrow, so hopefully i can get copies. Just being a bit impatient to be honest! really expecting some get out clause as with all insurance!

I have always found BUPA to be spot on. I called them up last week as my son needed an operation and they confirmed all payments to me and the hospital within 5 minutes. Their phone operates have always been friendly and well informed too.

We use them at work, have been spot on for coverage & ease of claiming.
Their policies are available for d'load IIRC, we've had the same one for years & it's still the current live one & i don't think that's just for us.

Always been great for me. I like the "web chat" thing.

If it is a company policy then in all likelyhood you'll be okay - if it is personal policy they would have asked about any pre-existing medical conditions and if appropriate excluded them from future claims.

Just ring their help line - 0845 766 1115 - explain that you are a member through your employer but have lost your policy documents, they should be able to locate you on their systems through your employers name and postcode. Then they will run through the claim with you over the phone.

You will need to tell your HR department that you have claimed, BUT do not need to tell them what you have claimed for.
