I've got to get a new phone and am thinking of getting a Sony Xperia Z, only thing that's putting me off if the size of it! Nice and easy to use and view stuff on, but I just wonder if it's going to be a bit clunky for mtn biking. (I like to keep my phone/camera handy for grabbing quick shots or taking calls while I'm out biking)
Has anyone got one of these phones - if so, can you let me know what you think of it please.
TIA
I've got an Zperia T, which is the predecessor to the Z, someone I know has got a Z. Other than the size (T be slightly smaller), theres not much to choose between them, in terms of use anyway. The T is running very similar software to the Z. The Z has better hardware and the camera is meant to be good. The waterproofness is a plus point, although Im very careful anyway.
The phone iteslf is a bit bland in styling, glass front and back mean fingerprints will show easily.
The camera is pretty good, but sony tend to compress them quite a bit, which mean they could be better (the camera itself is good, but theres too much post processing going on when the light is lower).
I'm waiting for the price to drop them I'm having a crack at one. Camera is good, and every review I've read is glowing...
I really want a waterproof phone, because I like to stick the phone in the pack pocket of my cucling jersey or running shorts, where it gets sweaty. So now I have to put it in a plastic bag which makes it a pain to get out and use for things.
However that Z it probably too big for the pockets in my shorts 🙁
Mine arrived today.
It's a couple of mm bigger than my iPhone with lifeproof case but thinner
Got one, size isn't an issue for me at all. Waterproofing is fab for me cycling and fishing. Performance is great, make sure you turn the stamina function on to make the most of your phone
if you're desperate for waterproof you can get anything coated?
Mate has got one. It's nice and slim but too big overall for my liking. I did enjoy dunking it in the pond though.
