Trying to replace our gas stove with something induction, but it's 90cm wide and the options available to me appear to be smeg and lacanche.  Smeg I can see enough reviews on to take a guess but lacanche I have no idea about.  It's about twice the price but still about the price of a high end MTB so not completely crazy (yet).  Does anyone have one and have any views if it actually works well as a cooker,  is repair cost outrageous etc.  My alternative is to rework the kitchen to take a surface induction hob and a couple of standalone ovens and I'm not really sure I want to open that particular can of worms

Parents have had a lacanche oven for over 25 years, moved house with it at least twice.

Seemed well built in an agricultural way, they had always had solid fuel Rayburns so probably not a big difference for them.

Gas hob on the one they've got

It appears to be a solid old lump and said they wouldnt move with it again

As Tom-B says, I'm assuming you mean a 90cm range cooker. We've had our 90cm induction hobbed Rangemaster Elan for 3 years now. We love it and it's been faultless as was the gas hobbed one we had in the last house for about 8 years.

Yep, but I don't live in the UK 🙁 so a bit more limited on what's available.  tx for info on Rangemaster though, i'll see if there are any dealers available over here, hadn't seen it up til now.   tx for info as well winston2005

Lacanche are professional grade I think, or as one might say, ‘the dogs tits’.
I’m surprised they do as small as 90cm and are only twice the price. I’ve only ever seen massive and £££££££’s.

Could be wrong on the price, just going by a pricelist I found online that's a couple of years old.  Not sold on one, just wanted to make sure there was some value in spending more other than shinier buttons.

Have you looked at Bertazzoni? No experience other than ogling the nice orange one in the local John Lewis!

We've got a Rangemaster Elise induction that replaced an old oil-fired Aga, and it's brilliant. The plates have a P (think it stands for Power) setting that brings a pan of water to the boil quicker than the fast-boil kettle can. They come in 90cm width and a range of colours to suit your existing kitchen. They look like a Lacanche but for much less £/€/$ etc

We’ve got a Rangemaster Elise induction

Looking at them looks like they might be branded Falcon here which is what I'm replacing.  How have you found it?  Bits of ours are start to misbehave after 8 years

ir has just worked - really solid .

They are quite basic so easy to fix if they ever go wrong.

Good, does what it's meant to quickly and efficiently. My only gripe is that the ovens only go up to 220°C whereas a stand alone single oven I had in the utility room goes up to 270, but I disconnected that to connect the range.

Edit: yes Falcon seems to be the brand in much of the world, depending on where you are
