Don't really fancy £200+ for a Thule.
I've got the Karrite 470, which I think is just the wider one. Served me well over the last few years and was a godsend once the kids came along - it's been to France plus several UK trips. I didn't want to spend much either as I only use it once or twice a year. Cheap and cheerful and does the job, that's about it really.
EDIT: Totally waterproof in a storm and knocked about 10mpg off my car when fitted to aero bars (a price worth paying). Very limited wind noise under 70 mph, above 70 and wind noise and fuel consumption increase exponentially (as expected)
