Anyone got a Ford Transit Courier Work Van?

And if so, what's it like?

I need a new vehicle - private use for rural commuting and biking/kayaking rather than commercial. Thinking a 2018 facelift kind of age in the limited spec for a few car like comforts.

If you do, how do you get on with it and have you used it to transported bikes? They are clearly pretty small so you'd have to break them down a bit (both or just one wheel off?) but I'm drawn to the goodish fuel economy and the 60mph national speed limit over say the connect which is in theory 50mph. And a Ford for the heated screen which is a game changer where I live.

Thanks

Had one hated it.  Decent spec with nav etc.
Load area too short. Seats lacked side support, at 1.73m tall I kept hitting my leg on the centre console trim. I actually removed the trim after a bit.

I’ve had a variety of vans, it’s the only one I’ve hated enough to push for replacement in a few months.

Went to a Custom, then a Connect. Both far better.

The courier defeats the purpose of having a van in the first place when it comes to transporting bikes.

Too late to edit 1.83m tall not 1.73

Forgot about the awful headlights. Engine was nice and quiet though.

Hmm - thanks.

Sounds like I might need to reconsider the Transit Connect instead.

I know when we got rid of the Courier after 6 months nobody wanted it as trade in.

If it’s fuel economy you’re concerned about, the manual 1.5TD Connect, (mid power output) of which I’ve had a 2019 and 2020, both did 50-60mpg on a run.  Just don’t press the eco button. It feels broken. <br />The auto I have currently is great but struggles to get 50mpg.

Get a Berlingo instead - it won't rust

As Duncan suggests love my Connect. Nice to drive, been dead reliable and my LWB one has no problem even with long bikes straight both wheels.

It's like a couple of generations old Focus inside,  no bad thing in my book.
