Interested in documenting my rides but not spending a load of money or looking more of an idiot than I have to. How is the image quality of these cameras?
Is this not a camera that fixes to your dog?
I always wanted one for my cat, so I could see what he got up to at night.
I've used one before- borrowed off here. It was pretty good and the company seems clued up. Not used a GoPro to compare i'm afraid
I have one, I have it two years now and there's a lot better out there now. I have the mini DVR 3 version and it uses a bullet camera and mini dvr recorder. Its the recorder isn't waterproof and the camera foggs up easily in the rain. It doesn't hold a candle to a go pro in my opinion but I think it all depends on how the footage is shot and edited more than the quality of the camera. Heres some footage from mine shitty enough.
One of my colleagues did gaffer tape one of our key fob cameras ( http://www.dogcamsport.co.uk/lawmate-rc200-keyfob-camera-dvr.html) to his mtb helmet to do a few runs - not bad quality
Just google "dogging" for more info 😉
I was bought one as a present a couple of years ago - had loads of problems with quality to start with, but Dogcam have been pretty good and replaced all the faulty stuff. At last they seem to have sorted things out and the most recent is working pretty well. Probably not bad value overall. However I would be tempted to pay the extra for a Gopro/contour.

Probably this
I had an early one that needed a recorder battery pack and lots of wires and a bag. As above fogged etc.
I used it for 1 trip despite the money I spent. I have a go pro now it's used every other week. Looks for deals on the previous hd
I had an older bullet cam type from before all these gopros etc, it was good but hassly. Good company to deal with though.
I'd not mess about tbh, a used Gopro is a pretty safe bet as they're durable units, and all the mounts and things make it worthwhile.
Thanks - looks like I'd be better off forking out for a GoPro ...
