Doing a "better-than-no-drinks-at-all" thing over Teams this afternoon.

Has anyone got something fun that's not all about Love Island and football? I'm accepting I'll need some of that for certain attendees!

Cheers!

I say this on every thread.

A round of will it float',put Random stuff in a bowl of water.

Mix it up. Lemons float limes don't. Some wood sinks.

Paper float.... Until you poke it.

Needs a bit of pizzazz and buildup for each one.

Play pictionary.

Zoom > share whiteboard. Split into teams, someone from each "volunteers" to draw.

Pre-prepare a list of words - easy, hard, medium. I did 2 minutes each team with increasing difficulty 4 easy, 4 medium, 4 hard.

Or you could do a round of easy, a round of medium, a round of hard, 1 minute each so people warm into it and swap artists. Depending how long you want to draw it out for (no pun intended).

If people are working from home, a fetch it game is always fun... Go and get:

A Christmas decoration
A toothbrush
Something orange
A star
A picture of a rabbit (from a book or drawn)
Something spotty
A single piece of toilet paper
Wrapping paper
A tea bag
Something purple

First to get it wins

"Decent" may be a stretch, but I have a handful of music rounds on Youtube that I knocked up for a weekly family quiz we did over lockdown -- the issue would probably be finding the answers since those were usually written on the back of an old fag packet somewhere.

This was a "covers" round which I was asking for song title, original artist, and covering artist. In retrospect that was probably too obscure:

This was a silly one I made using instruments from the kid's instruments box. You had to put the instruments in order of appearance -- there was a picture which went with it which I have on my phone still:

This one was based on putting the pieces of music in order of decade of release:

https://youtu.be/D7fe0PVDD8Y

I also have some picture rounds I did, so there was:

* ID the musical instrument
* ID the brand from the logo
* "Celebrity slapheads" (ID the bald celebrity, because that's funny or something like that and it's 2020 and we haven't been out in seemingly months)
* "Celebrities in disguise" (ID the celebrity/actor who is in makeup or costume)

Any or all of the above you are welcome to -- just ping me somehow I and I will dig out the bits and bobs.

Oh, I also have a (IMO) awesome quiz which was just guitar riffs (name the song) but YT won't let me share a link as it got copyright strikes*. I could email you that easily enough though.

* something, something, fair use, mutter mutter

...which leads one to wonder whether there is also a "Death Metal or Cheese" variation on the theme...?

Do you still need it? I have three that I've run for stw quiz nights that I'd be happy to share. 2 are hosted online (myquiz.org) where contestants log in to an external website, one's a Google slides thing where to need to present over zoom. That one has a music round too.

Ahahaha tomparkin.

I am embarrassed by how long it took me to remember who wrote the first cover. I don't even like the cover and love the original.

Oooh, three on the covers is a double bluff as that is not the most famous cover

I got in a lot of trouble with the covers round I must say. I thought I was playing to the audience a bit in that I picked tracks I thought my folks would know, but I think the average score was something like 1.5 out of 10!

Still, it was fun putting it together 😂

Looking back there are some properly obscure covering artists in there so the criticism was probably not unjustified.

Loads on kahoot.
You can edit to remove questions.
Some on blooket which has the jeopardy of being able to steal the points of others.

Better still, Porn Star or My Little Pony 😎

Totally random but you get suspicious looks from all involved if you correctly guess a porn star name...
