That’s Rianne Downey (above), seen her in Warrington with Paul Heaton, amazing talent.

Missus managed to get very close to the action today. And she was on TV as well! I didn’t see her as I was out on my bike….

She won’t thank me for this pic!

Maggie Rogers is not someone I'd heard of before. Really liking it. Nailing the vocals.

How does a Glasto virgin actually get tickets then? Wife and I have tried four or five times without success.

Manics! Straight into a classic

He does look less like an angst ridden youth adrift and more like my GP now though

I mean, Morrissey is a colossal tit clearly, but the songs! To see a whole crowd most of whom weren't even born singing them back. How are they nearly 40 years ago?

Aye, those songs are just so good. The heroism and mundanity of everyday life.

That was a cracking set by the Manics!

Now if I was there, I’d have to choose between CATQ or LDR but thanks to the magic of iPlayer I can watch both!

Guns N Roses off to a flyer. Axl's voice sounds healed from last year. Thank god, as I'm seeing them on Tuesday night!

Gnr sounding good so far, slash had one of those EGCs, which was nice. Axles voice sounds shot though

The sound mix for TV was been crap again. Was watching unknown mortal orchestra before and sound was so thin, although songs were amazing

The mic isn't it. The backing vocal is still there and I'm sure he's singing.

Definite mic too low.

Slash is sounding phenomenal. Interesting there's no wall of Marshalls on stage. I'm assuming he's gone down the digital route

Axle's gran is doing a great job of covering for him.

GnR has been way better than expected. Axle sounds alright from what I can hear from the from the low mike level. 61 years old!

Never heard of Jacob Collier before, but he ain’t half talented

GnR I hope it sounds better than he sounds on the telly box

why is there such a delay between playing and broadcast ?

Rick Astley was pretty good as the Smiths

Axl looks way fitter and with it than I was expecting.

Slash really can play but I do worry about him jumping off that box, he might put his hip out.

Surely Axls mix level issue must be deliberate somehow (minimising crap singing?). No chance it’s not been noticed and there will be backup mics and people massaging the sound mix live a plenty for a tour of this size.

Stop what you’re doing.
West Holts.
Loyle Carner.
from the start. Sorry, but Pretenders, GnR, Manics. Old news.
Loyle had so much talent and delivers. Time and time again.
Why the need to excuse sub par performances with caveats of good for age, etc.

I've struggled up until now to remember what Axl Rose 2023 reminds me of.

I've got it. It is the Dick Nixon masked bankrobber in Point Break.

They are one of those bands where it’s just a miracle that they are still alive, on stage and able to play.
Slash has the fingers of a 20yer old.

You don't see onstage amps any more because everyone uses in-ears . Slash will probably have old-school valve amps in the back to get the sound but they will plugged into quiet speaker cabinets or similar to go into the PA/onstage mix in the ears

I forgot how, despite the low slung Les Paul “rock” style, when there is anything complex to play Slash lifts the guitar up into what is basically a Classical guitar position. How does he hold it there though? Les Paul’s aren’t light and he’s using his hands to play, not hold guitars up.

GNR - shite, couldn't hear Axl
Lana Del Ray - didn't bother watching as last time she played Glasto she was shitting herself and it was crap.
Christine and the Queens. Boring sameness
FBS - yeah, he's honed his craft.
Leftfield - no newer stuff. I've done the older albums to death

I'm going bed. I think I'm getting old.

Erm I think Axl should stop now. Fabulous music but his comedy high pitched voice is a bit grim. It would be better if he mimed.

Enjoyed GnR. Better than AM yesterday as a spectacle IMO.

Expected dodgy vocals TBH but better than I thought he'd be. Loved Civil War especially. Slash is (still) quite good though isn't he?

Currently watching Loyle Carner. Has already triggered a trip to Amazon.

Fatboy slim was the dogs bollox, I dread to think how long it took to edit and build that set, I lost count at 300 edits and started bum shuffling in my seat, that’s definitely one set to record the audio from.

Looking at shots of the audience it struck me that it will be quiet day in IT, HR, Finance etc departments up and down the country tomorrow.

All the senior managers and directors who normally do the haranguing will be nursing hangovers from Glastonbury or chucking a sickie.

And let's not dress this up. Guns N Roses were god awful. Erratic performance this, incredible they're still going that, blah, blah. They were awful.
