I have no idea why the BBC persists with a corporately selected song.   If we are going to come last let’s at least be collectively responsible !

I think they're terrified of our entrant being the equivalent of Boaty McBoatface. I'm not sure that's entirely a bad thing.

Once again, from what I could hear, the singing from our entrant was not up to snuff. And for all the raving about the staging, I wasn't convinced that staying inside a box for 90% of the song is what a live performance at Eurovision is all about.

If your link has got .jpg at the end, you can paste it straight into the reply box. If it doesn't, well, you have do lots of other things to make it work. Or try to upload a saved image (which will be deemed too large, despite not being too large).

I don’t think anyone should be thinking the Israel result is very authentic.

I've been thinking that there has been some way found to rig the system. It was one of the weaker songs in the competition IMHO.

Auto dialers?

Not that I am suggesting it has been, but I imagine its very easy to rig any of these public votes where thousands ring in. Its taken on faith that it is an accurate reflection of the actual calls.

Im actually surprised the UK scored any points. I was expecting the big null points but clearly some of the industry types gave it a few

As far as I know it was actual real calls, they just spent a lot of money on marketing to mobilise their diaspora.  Nowadays some acts will even do tours of radio/TV stations in other countries in advance to get their songs better known.

E.g. pick your language...

That's what we thought too. Song wasn't anything special and they had that fantastic floor and video wall at their disposal yet chose to sing most of it inside what looked like a bus station loo.

Winner was OK. I preferred the Irish witch and Disney Ramstein though myself.

Israel was utterly forgettable too.
