Me and a mate bought tickets back in November '19.. obviously the summer 2020 event was cancelled but the 2021 dates are now looking increasingly shaky.. The 4 week extension to easing restrictions takes us beyond the festival dates and it's not yet on the official list of ERP pilot sports events.

It's a lot of people (normally 200k across the full weekend with some people just there for the day) but it is outside.. not sure which way it will go but refreshing my emails at this rate is not healthy!

They are carrying on with the 'build' so I expect it's going ahead to be honest.

Interesting. There's an article on the Times website from Saturday that says "Whatever happens on the spectator front, the show is expected to go on" which is a bit cryptic.. because a lot of the event (e.g. manufacturer stalls) require people to be there.

A mate has 4 days working there. On checking he's been told it's on, as far as they're concerned.

A number of events are now asking for a Lateral Flow test negative on Entry - I've got some on order just in case.

I reckon that might be the stipulation (and also for the f1 at Sivlerstone).

I've been to many, many GFOS as I used to get Corporate freebie tickets, actually had to pay £££ this year so I better be going! Hotels booked too.

Also waiting on an update. I live near and was very near yesterday for a walk with the family. The Players Classic show was on, not sure how that was able to take place. Lots of modified cars in the area too. Plus you could hear the cars (sounded like one was going for it on track)

Really useful intel, thank you all. On the lat flow tests - how does proof/evidence of negative result work? Assume it needs verifying somehow?

Thanks

You register the test result with the NHS website and get a text message confirmation.

Its the system teachers, nurses and many large workplaces are using for regular testing of asymptomatic staff.

Another Motorsport event I'm at this weekend is asking to see the text message confirmation from the previous 24hrs before entry.
