Walked down to the chemist today and wherever cars generally park to go into shops etc there seems to be gloves littering the floor.

Are people really that stupid that they think throwing potentially contaminated gloves on the floor is a great idea?ffs!🙄

Admittedly I'm in the SE so rubbish on the floor is pretty normal sadly but this adds a new element of crapness to the equation.

Yes but makes a change to picking up the usual MaccyD’s and Costa cups.

People are litter blind nowadays

Yes, I was quite surprise when I spotted the first few. And I'm seeing less dog shit bags, but definitely more unbagged dog shit.

Does the 'glove' only have one finger?

Latex gloves.
Dog poo bags.
Fly tipping.
Paper face masks.
Tissues.
Bags For Life.

All are being seen more everywhere round me. The council workers are trying to keep on top of it but it's a losing battle. More than making up for the lack of McD's/Costa/Starbuck's/Burger King rubbish we normally have.

Yep, seeing it here too, in the village and out in the countryside. Probably need to consider them potentially contaminated too.

Big increase in fly tipping (household waste rather than building debris).
null
Council response was to install 4 big cameras on tripods surrounded by Heras fencing. Not sure what point was, no one will fly tip at that spot anymore, they are now going a mile further up the road and contaminating another spot. Still not being caught. Tips might be shut around here but the bins have been collected, including the garden waste bin, as regularly as normal

Yep in the woods of all places...

Also more dog shit, in bags or not.

More people out and about locally so therefore more ****s.

More flytipping too, because ****s.

The council stopped the garden and food waste bin collections about a month ago, which was an issue when food waste was already in the bins. Fortunately they did a one off collection this week,. No more collections. Food waste has to go into the normal bin. We've got a compost bin, so pealings etc go in that. My daughter has a habbit of leaving a mouthful of food on her plate - she's been told to finish it as we don't want rotting food in the bin.

Poo bags and poo is on the increase - getting sick of cleaning sh1t off my MTB. Thing is, Joe Public doesn't really need the gloves, just carry hand gel with you.

I couldn't find any in the workshop yesterday as I was preparing to put Osmo Polyx oil on the cupboard I'm making.

Yup. Blue cream and purple gloves.

Yep... but this is in the middle of the country where I have to ride short distances on roads

Matches the blue, purple and black dog poo bags.

Ah ... that's why I saw no black nitrile ones perhaps

Despite having a huge box I'm still recycling them anyway... when I'm out riding I spray with isopropyl then stick in a plastic bad in my bum bag...
Had to ride to the GP yesterday ... well her home to pick up a prescription from a drop box... her husband thanked me for using gloves, disinfecting the drop box and taking the gloves with me.

Really not seeing this, or the big increase in traffic that everyone says is happening recently.

Never thought Ilkeston would be a haven of law abiding respectability

Workshop gloves on Ebay have become very expensive but at least there's plenty to buy.

Yes, mainly in the local dog $hit woods so assume its knob end dog owners. Most don't care about leaving $hit bags around so dropping more litter on the ground wont bother them either.

Can’t say I’ve seen anything like that and I can assure you there are plenty of morons around here. Maybe theyre too stupid to have caught on to the rubber glove fetish.

Yes, the Mrs and I were peddling back to isolation central from the food shop yesterday evening and were just saying the same thing, counted at least a dozen green latex gloves on one stretch of country lane, fly tipping is also massively increased around us.

The annoying thing is gloves don't offer any meaningful protection for most people. Transmission isn't through your skin, it's touching your face and that doesn't matter whether it's a contaminated glove or hand. The numpties driving around with gloves on really dont get it, take the bloody things off before getting in the car or you'll contaminate the inside of the car. Gloves in a clinical settings mainly to prevent infection between patients.

I've noticed the dog poo bag thing too.

Irritation with that poo left unbagged will biodegrade, poo in a bag dropped on a path won't...

Whilst that’s obviously true, they might serve as a reminder not to touch your face. It’s not a crazy idea.

People that drop them on the ground instead of putting them in the bin are pond scum, though. I haven’t seen much of that round me, though.

Ankle deep in the bloody things in ASDA and Tesco car-parks near me.

I thought I saw some bread dedicated to their prior owners when I went inside, but it said "thick cut."

I'm irritated that some people think it's ok to cover the area either side of a path with dog poo. Bag it, bin it, nothing less.

What you did there? I see it... 😁 👏🏻
I have seen nitrile gloves scattered around in one or two places, but only around car parks, fortunately; where I walk away from town nobody seems to be wearing gloves, so no need to dump them.
Fly tipping increased in a few places, though. 🤬

Caught a bunch of fly tippers today. I'd been out for a quick off road run towards Reddish Vale and on the way back came across a large transit van on Welkin Road in Bredbury (Stockport) by the mill. The three guys had dumped a load of mattresses and other stuff. The guys didnt see me approach from the direction of the M60, but shat themselves as I turned up. A guy chucking a tire said 'uh oh'. Given the three were bigger than me, I didn't say a word, squeezed past then took a very long look at the reg plate. They saw this.

Got myself to the main road next to a car repair place, then put the number on my phone. The van shot past at this point.

Anyway, reported it, the council phoned me within a couple of hours and went down and photographed the rubbish. I've confirmed what I saw and the tyre was where I said it was thrown. Let's see if the council can catch this scum. Its on a regular circuit of mine and I'm local and don't want this shoot happening.
