Me and the kids had haircuts back at the start of January before they started school. Then covid happened and everything shut. Managed to book haircuts for them all in August ready for school in September but I didn't book me one and still haven't had a haircut. My hair is longer than its ever been and now has a comical 90s vibe going on. Anyone else?

Eldest daughter is now a dab hand with the clippers so shears me every month or so!

I bought some Wahl clippers for £30 and get them whizzed over my head once a month or so.

Should have done it years ago, to be honest!

I just got some clippers, set on the longest setting (12mm) and whizzed it off.
I get the kid to make the back straight.

I too have avoided a trim, can now tie it back. A definite return to the 90s for me as well. Off to buy a mudhoney t shirt for work, might buy a pair of dm's as well.

I've got some clippers, not great ones but they work. Never thought of that at the time. As time's gone on I thought I'd see what it would look like after a year. My hair is pretty wavy so it's got a mind of its own. The kids like it and prefer it this way, not sure if they'd forgive me if I suddenly hacked it all off.

My hair is so thick that it grows up and out. At the start of the first lockdown I got to afro levels then shaved it off. I've had one proper haircut since but they're closed again so I just buzzed it off. Currently sitting at work in a beany to keep the draught off my head.

I am sorely tempted to have numbers 1 and 2 on my head but it's not worth the risk and the barber is a bit neo-liberal about using a mask properly.

Guy I work with hasn't had a cut since March, and has been growing his beard.

He's going to get a side job as Father Christmas 🙂

Me ... it hasn't been cut since June of last year and is out of control! Sadly I cannot rock the Sinéad O'Connor look, so will continue to tie it up and try to keep it out of my eyes, mouth, breakfast ...

Turns out that male pattern baldness is a blessing in disguise.

Having hair is a royal pain in the hoop that you don't realise until it's gone and you are set free.

No1 with the clippers. This is the way

actually haven't had a haircut for 3 years now... was approaching 40 and unlike some my age it doesn't seem to be going grey or falling out, plus I've never had long hair, so thought **** it why not 😂

Actually turned out to be a great decision as it was one less thing to stress about when Covid came along 😃

This, but no guard, as opposed to number 1. Sorted, every thursday and Monday, chest, back, baws, everything gets it.

Yeah... I was on track but then it got to the annoying length.
Not long enough to tie back and I also stated shedding it lots like a maulting dog. (Probably due to being stuffed in helmets)

So it just got to a break point... and i was kinda curious how much it had thinned (less than I'd thought as it happens) so I just went mad with the clippers. I've been cutting everyone elses hair anyway...and it turns out I'm not dreadful at it.

Yep, I've just continued with my 5mm/7mm cut all over, although currently doing it every 4-6 weeks so thinking of getting a clipper that will let me do it while standing in the shower once/twice a week.

@ta11paul1 That's what I do, but do it before I shower, ie naked in shower enclosure, then shower it all off. It's also the reason I have a cordless set of clippers, everyone recommends Wahl corded, but no good for me.

Mrs NBT has been cutting my hair. Considering she's just randomly hacking bits off I think she's done a pretty good job.

I’ve been doing it myself with a little beard trimmer. Attempting my usual fade. After much faff and contortions in front of a few mirrors I actually managed a decent job of it. So I thought to myself, not bad for a first attempt, i’ll get better from here on in and there’s never been a better time to learn to cut one’s own hair... Except, that hasn’t happened. I seem to be getting worse at it. The only upside is that it’s now so long on the top that I just tie it up in a bobble like a pineapple. And I’ve also bought a hat 😄

You have enough hair to cut? I (as with other above) took the queue of Covid to ditch haircuts as I had been thinking I should get a discount for the last few years as they have had less and less to do. Clippers for me from now on.

Also, two of my favourite barber experiences in Cambridge, one guy who after cutting a mole on my neck explained he didn't 'usually' cut people - I felt so lucky! Then the other who told me he liked to earn up to the taxable level then bugger off out of the country for the rest of the year, I've worked PAYE my whole life and have no time for people who dodge paying into a system they then rely on in harder times. So personally I'm not going to miss the barbers chair!

Haven't had a haircut this year, but being a long haired hippy type, this is pretty standard.

Regular haircuts up to lockdown. Just ran clippers over it during lockdown, 3 visits to the barber between lockdowns and currently looking forward to a cut his Thursday.
I'm old and my hair is patchy so if I don't want o look like a scabby tramp a decent haircut helps.

#2 all over a couple of weeks into April lockdown (because I was well overdue a haircut by then anyway). Nothing since, it looks ridiculous now, it tangles and takes ages to dry after a shower but part of me keeps wanting to see what it'll look like just a bit longer. I wear a hat for the school run.

Yeah that's exactly what I want to do, and cutting it regularly should mean no need to trim up the neckline/around the ears. I do 98% of it myself at the moment but sat in front of a mirror with the resulting long hairs to be collected. I only shave twice a week so will do it at the same time 😀

I've taken the opportunity to grow my hair as I've never tried it before, some days it winds me up and I'm ready to shave it all off but others I think it kind of suits me. I do need to give it a bit of a trim but wouldn't know how.

I tried growing a beard for a month but I have very patchy facial hair so it wasn't a good look.

I'm on the clippers no blade every Sunday its routine now, talked the boy he is 11, into a no2 at the start of first lockdown, get him used to the one true haircut.

He's only just forgiven me, not touched by sicssors since, he normally only gets it cut once a year as it is, will need to get it done soon.

Pitbull Skullshaver twice a week and tame the beard with clippers - normally do the beard with a #3 once a week, but been growing it out.

My happy face 😉

Been doing grade 0 clippers at home for decades, but in this nippy weather I'm in no rush to grab the ~10 year old corded Wahl set... Maybe from Thursday! 😆

Amen to that. I just take a razor to my head twice a week whilst in the shower so it’s business as usual for me. Accidentally massacred the beard part way through the first lockdown, but it’s coming back!

Funk Jr on the other hand looks like he’s escaped from some sort of commune. Had his haircut after the first lockdown, but we’ve just let it grow since. Suits him longer.

My daughter has taken to climbing up the side of me, pinching bits of my head whilst saying “hair need help. Daddy hair need help” 😂

I like my beard trim too, 2mm cut twice a week, and shave around the chin line, hate having a hairy neck, it's more of a shadow than a beard to be honest!.

DE shaving 3 times a week. Not been for a cut in a barbers for many, many years. Thinking at least 25.

Not been to barber since Feb. Bought some Wahl clippers and Mrs. S has performed five very good cuts / blending. She just watched a few vid's on YT! Clippers spend already covered.

Yup not let the wife near my with the shears since march, luckily gravity has now started to bring it down, was starting to look like that bloke out of kid'n'Play. I have no intentions of having it off either going to see how long it takes to reach my arse. it tends to go up, then out then down

up
out
down

I think I had one pre-covid, but the Covid lockdowns hit and my barber decided his landlord and trying to take haircut appointments, was just too shit to deal with, so has gone to work at Tesco's... I'm gutted, I've been using him for 20 years, and really don't know where to even try locally. Though some young kid has opened a Kurdish barbers in the village (worst time ever!), so I'm split as to whether to try him, or the original village barber or my g/f hair dresser (who I at least know).
My pony tails looking quite ratty...

I got me a set of clippers, no intention of going back to the hairdressers now tbh.

(funny, I went for years barely getting it cut when it was long, then I went for a long time wanting to get it cut but having total decision paralysis and just left it long, now I've ended up with a #2 and a little basic shaping, kind of totally the opposite)

For the last, oh 20 years, I’ve tended my bonce curtesy of sets of clippers (sans guards). Mainly due to onset of aforementioned MPB...

Last strim was start of March. Although about three months in I had to cut off the neck bumfluff as it was truly hideous.

I’m currently sporting a full 9 months growth. Was going to raz it after 6 but decided just to roll with it.

Decided I’m going to grow it long enough to tie back and see.

I’ve been letting the beard grow too. Approaching 20cms on the chin. I have to tuck it in if I’m eating soup...

As a visual, think an extra for Sons of Anarchy... (but the look Im aiming for is a white haired Warren Ellis (Bad Seeds)...

Yup. I was getting mine trimmed by a bloke who set up a little shop down the road, no appointments, just drop in, £10 a time. Trouble is, even with a decent cut, ‘cos I wear a hat all day, it just looked lank and horrible by the evening.
Then lockdown, and a month in, and a month after the last trim, and I’m standing looking in the bathroom mirror with my beard trimmer in my hand...
Managed to find one of the only three pairs of Remington cordless hair trimmers left on eBay, and life is just so much easier, once a week, trim the beard, whizz over the bonce with the Remington with the 3mm comb fitted, job jobbed. I really should have done it ages ago.
Does require a warm hat when outdoors, though.

You've seen my thinning barnet but going to the barbers is a thing of the past now.
Grade 2 with the clippers and vague scissoring on top of what's left 🙂

Oh and best of all over £50 saved and counting!!!

My wife gave me a cut (mostly) in June so I didn't look like a mess for an interview. But it's now grown out all over the shop. I'm thinking of going full clippered just to be done with for a few months.

Iirc I had a cut about a year ago (in 2019). Nowt since. 99% if the time it's tied back, otherwise I look like Brian May. It does mean I have to be strict about checking the Roomba's rollers etc as if you don't clear long hair out frequently it can cause issues and I don't want the motor to burn out!

I’ve been a bit smug during lockdown as I taught myself how to cut my own hair a few years ago because of a skin condition where it itches really badly when it gets longer. So I’ve had a nice and neat no2 short back and sides with longer no7 on the top to a standard where people don’t believe I’ve done it myself!!

Love the “baldness is a blessing in disguise” comments, yeah keep telling yourself that Mr Chrome Dome. 😉😉😉😂😂

I got mine cut at the beginning of January before my honeymoon, and haven’t had it cut again yet. I’ll make it to the full year but will get it tidied up soon after.

Have got fairly good at biccing my head without missng too many bits at the back, the beard's been 'full lumberjack' a few times but that's one thing I will only entrust to a professional.

Bicced my head this morning and then rode into town to get lunch.. that was ... fresh.

Meh, I remember having enough hair to cut. Now my head and face gets a scrape with the cordless wahl trimmers when I start looking homeless.

My last haircut was in October 2019, I eventually was made to go and get a trim this October by my wife and mum like a 47-year-old baby!

I cut my hair once. No 2 all over.

Think it was 2013 after a particularly bad trip to the hairdressers.

it's now halfway down my back, just the way I like it. Bit grey in places but when I wear a hat I look like Carl McCoy, though my daughter thinks I'm more Andrew Eldritch circa floodland....

My kids shaved my head in the garden around May kinda time. Need another now but I don't want a cold head so I'll probably just leave my mop until next May.

I had one between lockdowns - bought clippers but failed badly trying to do it myself (I didn't get as far as producing comical results - more my brain just couldn't cope with cutting the top with scissors in the mirror). I was almost at the just use clippers all over stage when lockdown ended. Needs doing again now but will go to the barbers next week for that - unfortunately though my usual one has shut down, apparently even a couple of months after the first lockdown his trade was well under half of what it usually was so he couldn't keep up with rates 🙁 Mix of people now just doing their own cuts and lack of trade from local business park and manufacturing places as a lot of people there are either WFH or furloughed/laid off.

I think I had had one official haircut in the "pre-COVID" times, then a couple at home from my girlfriend. I'm now actively ignoring going out for one and need to buy new scissors because we blunted the other ones trimming the dogs' fur.

Yes, I look like Worzel Gummidge on the work meetings.

Used to have mine long a good 20 years ago, I'd been pondering growing it again, then Covid hit and pretty much sealed the deal. Currently about shoulder length! I bet loads more people will have long hair after this, hiding inside means you can skip the awkward teenager looking stage without anyone seeing.
