I got one of the revised highly political "we're wasting all your tax on welfare" summary letters from Mr Osbourne yesterday....

Apparently the previous year's pilot version had a breakdown of Welfare to show how much was State Pensions etc, but that didn't fit with their 'benefit scroungers are ruining the economy' narrative, so it was vetoed for this years edition....

This is the one that hopes everyone thinks "welfare = scroungers" and therefore votes Tory at the next election?

Yep!

I'd be happy to cut the Front Bench's pensions from the Welfare budget.....

My heart sank when I saw the horrible brown envelope. What now? But it was nice to get a letter from HMRC that wasn't the beginning of yet another epic cock-up on their behalf, that would then take me 145 letters, a solicitor and 34 days on hold to their offices, before talking slowly to the hairless apes working there, to get sorted.

So that was nice.

Other than that, If i wanted pre-election propaganda from the Tory party, I'd put myself on their mailing list. ****s!!!
