Seems you can't start a thread on here without folk flaming/having a go - whether it's that you can't race a road bike with a triple, there's no point in a fat bike if you don't ride it on snow etc, comments invariably made by a magazine-reader/forum-dweller with no experience of the topic in hand.
Why on earth do folk do this, is there any reason other than hating?

It's a forum, peope like to give their 2c even if they have no or little experience. We're all arm chair experts. I've had several similar discussions in the real world about racing on triples/compacts/doubles with similar results. A lot is ingrained for what ever reason. Other times its deliberate trolling.
