Thinking a top notch steak and ale pie here with twice cooked chips and maybe winter greens. Anyone else cooking tomorrow other than usual Sunday food?

Tom Yum soup followed by red Thai Curry. Prawn crackers. Nice bottle of fizz to drink. Looking forward to it!

We decided to do valentines dinner tonight rather than tomorrow since we’ve both got to be up early on Monday.

So we had-

Smoked salmon, prawns and avacado (washed down with a glass of Perrier Jouet)

Chateaubriand, sautés potatoes, pan roasted vine tomatoes and brocolli (with a few glasses of 2003 Amarone)

Desert will be Tesco profiteroles, not because they’re classy but because they’re delicious.

Will probably have an old fashioned or two while we relax and hope the kids aren’t going to do their usual bedtime routine of getting up a million times because they can’t sleep, the dark is the wrong colour of dark, the ceiling is too close or too far away, the cats are sleeping on their beds/ the cats are not sleeping on their beds etc etc..

Happy valentines to you all

First time in 33 years we haven't gone out for a meal. Had a look at the Whitley Hall take away but it's not the same.
Seeing as it's Sunday it will be home made Yorkshire puddings. Sunday roast and sticky toffee pudding for afters.
All washed down with a Chablis

I am alone this weekend so I did what proved to be an arduous bike ride with the intention of treating myself to a fancy burger at the end of it. Only to get there and the place wasn’t open because they had a staff shortage. I had a little cry and rode home and made a toasted cheese sandwich but redeemed the situation with churros from the freezer.

Home made lasagna - not because it’s p20s favourite (we’ve already done home made pizza this weekend!), but because I only make it occasionally for family, with love.
Box of Lindt chocolate for pudding 😉

Steak here, we both like a nice steak but usually go out for it so with the lockdowns havent had one in ages. Going to attempt to make some grated potato and onion gratin type things, large mushrooms, beef tomatoes, and will make some homemade onion rings too.

I've seen a cheesecake hidden at the back of the fridge so I guess that's pudding

Arroz con costra ("crusty rice") here, basically rice+chicken+sausage(chorizo+longaniza) cooked over a low heat for half an hour or so, then baked with an eggy topping. Washed down with a bottle of red.

Steaks the size of my doorstep followed by a white chocolate ginger cheesecake made by my son and I. This is more for the kids as my wife’s not a fan of valentines 🥳🥳

Courgette and cauliflower curry. Mrs gd found the recipe card and I'm cooking it. Not because it's Valentine's day (which neither of us is arsed about as our wedding anniversary is soon after) but because it sounds nice and because Mrs gd has been doing loads of the domesticities these last few weeks.

Mrs P had food poisoning or norovirus for last 10 days. Dry toast looking likely. Maybe will cook it under grill with a heart-shape masked onto it. Maybe tin foil mask? Will put the Dioralyte in a wine glass.

GENIUS 😇

Some years have been better, tbh.

Nope.

Wife has packed her bags and is leaving me, going to stay with her mother for a few days.

well, it's half term, MiL and us and the kids have been isolating and I've decided that the change of scenery is needed to keep them from going insane. But I have to go to work next week so I'm staying here, with the internet.

Normally on Valentines, I'd do West country style chicken. She loves my coq in cider.

With my pub shut, it's my first Valentine's day off after working the last 14......

I've spent 3 lockdowns cooking every day so bollocks am I cooking today. We'll be having a curry from the local Nepalese place - best curry I've had anywhere since I moved away from Nottingham.

Edit: just realised that I've worked the last 18. Old as ****
