They have a discount on sales at the moment and I have had a sideboard/storage unit in the basket and been hovering over the buy button.
Anyone bought the type 1 ply stuff? The type 2 is not ply so would steer clear of that design if I do buy.
Loads of reviews on their website but not elsewhere.
I really like it, but it's so expensive.
There's a couple of sellers on Etsy that will make similar from ply, and they'll make it exactly how you want. No idea what the quality is like though.
It is expensive but I have a 20% off voucher and then I get the 20% vat off as it’s to store all my work stuff (big A3 printer/A3 portfolios/hard drives etc) so about £450 for 166x70x40 with some doors not drawers.
Never heard of it before so I just had a browse, very nice I like the simple design and as I need bookcases I had a look but £1000 for a 1m x 2m bookcase/wall unit?, just what ****ing planet are we living on?😳. I’ll stick to a £100 spend at IKEA and even at that I’ll grumble and moan.
IKEA isn’t going to made of ply and be able to be unbuilt and moved a few times.
I wish there was something similar and slightly cheaper (though the discount makes it more affordable) it’s either cheap chipboard or really pricey like vitsoe
IKEA isn’t going .... be able to be unbuilt and moved a few times.
I'd dispute that. The knock down fittings IKEA use can be reused many few times without issue. I'd want to be sure the Tylko fittings can be too. The Tylko ones look to be plastic and far more proprietary than IKEA's fittings, are they replaceable?
They are made by mod-eez, so I presume readily available?
I had a look, but have stuck with equally stupidly priced Vitsoe.
I like the way the Vitsoe is fully modular and has no significant design changes since the 1960's. When we move house it's going to be very easy to take with us and refit in any other style we want. It's the kind of thing you question your sanity when paying for it, but feel like you did the right thing when it's delivered. Real actual people deal with your order and are easy to contact if you have any questions.

Ahem.... There is an inbetween. Have you tried asking a furniture maker?
Ahem…. There is an inbetween. Have you tried asking a furniture maker?
Yes and it came out more expensive. I’m not averse to paying for quality/bespoke but it was coming out at about 1/3 more than Tylko.
Decent ply obviously isn’t cheap.
@MrSmith is the discount a generic one or have you got yourself a voucher from somewhere?
they sent me an email with a one-off code (runs out tomorrow), probably because i designed a couple of sideboards and saved them then didn’t purchase, then went back and looked at them again a few times and put one of them in the basket without purchasing.
so maybe do that and wait a few weeks for a code 🙂
Unto This Last do some nice furniture https://www.untothislast.co.uk/collections
Cheers I've just saved one.
I'll do a couple of others and try the basket thing.
so i just made a purchase and they gave me a link to ’refer a friend' and they get £130 off an order.
so if anyone was wavering over a purchase let me know.
think it takes about 4 weeks to delivery so i’ll update once i get it built.
So yesterday it was delivered, the instructions are printed for your individual piece of furniture and each part is clearly labeled with a sticker so you can’t get it wrong, they even give you a piece of ply covered in felt as a pad to protect the surface when you use a mallet to help the pieces slot home. thats the only tool you need.
quite pleased with the unit, very solid and each piece is perfectly sized and no gaps, also the back panel is the same finish as the fronts so will work as a room divider.
very pleased, maybe wouldn’t purchase at full RRP but with a discount i can’t complain and would buy from them again.
