How is it these days? Any tips or recommendations? I'm going with the family next month, the children are 7 and 4 so I'm not expecting psytrance on the beach (is that even a thing now?). We have a hotel booked but if it all works with food, heat, transport etc we'd like to see something other than Candolim. The last time we were in India was 2005, without (before) children, for a couple of months, so hopefully the culture shock will be manageable.

I went to Kerala last month. That was good. Food was sensational.

yup, I was there in December. South Goa, stayed at a yoga retreat on Patnem beach. Was lovely, one of the most relaxing holidays I've ever had. There was a bit of an issue with Rupees as the 500s and 1000s have been removed from circulation, the cash points were all empty. I don't know if it's still going on, we managed to get by paying with Euros, dollars and credit card.
