We have a late holiday booked (mid october) to Benalmadena in Spain and I was just wondering if anyone had been and can give me ideas on child friendly stuff to do in the area.

Cheers
Steve

Tasty BBQ fish on the sea front.
Cable car up the mountain.
The roundabout made of wind mills is cool for about 20 seconds.

Some seriously epic bike trails too.

That's all I got.

Switchbacks are based there in the winter, not kid friendly though.

The Columbus monument/theater/museum is quite cool.

Saw Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith having a drink at a bar in the harbour.

She had manky feet.

Cable car up mountain to bird of prey sanctuary and great displays.
Selwo Marina Delfinarium. See Dolphins and other sea life. Great for Kids and adults. Bat enclosure and reptiles etc..
Mariposario de Benalmadena. A short bus ride away. Beautiful displays of moths and butterflies in all stages of their life-cycle.
Great beaches.
If you're driving, not far from Nerja which is well worth a visit for it's beautiful location, ocean views and super cafes and restaurants.
It's quite a lovely area if you have a little look around.

Best thing I can offer is get the train from the airport to the resort if you're transfers aren't sorted. Much cheapness compared to a cab and very efficient service.

If you see the jellyfish that stung Mrs H, feel free to whack it with a snorkel for me.

I've been, a bit home from home in many respects, but the important thing is the amazing weather!! Plenty to look at, good walks, your children will live in the pool! I would def go again, Mijas is worth a visit, my mates just returned from a holiday there and it was nudging 40 degrees, have a good one!

Hire a car, drive inland from the ghastly, over-developed coast and find the real Spain. If you can get to a Flamenco evening, do it; it's fantastic.
