I noticed they've got more techy-looking brake handles on the latest models.

Can you now stop in the wet, or still just keep going at a slightly reduced speed? 😯

Are you referring to the brake upgrade at the beginning of 2013?

I have one of the new Brompton's which I've been riding daily for the past 6 months and find the brakes to be excellent even in the wet and have yet to adjust/replace pads.

I've also a Brompton X-bar to stiffen the handlebars/reduce flex. Probably the best upgrade I've done

As above, very pleased with mine. Haven't felt the need to brace the bar, though, as I don't see it as a 'performance machine'! 🙂

Yep got a 2013 - brakes fine. Although Brompton's are no places for endo's!

PS. Hope to see you out with the Moles Mr Woppit?

I bought mine in 2010 when the brakes were as much use as clogs for in-line skating.

Replaced the handles with Avids and can now stop in the wet, albeit with near-maximum grip engaged...

I'm making good progress, but not ready for the hills yet. The schedule is - back to the full commute distance in February, then if March/April is dry, I'll see you at the car park. Probably just to say hello - I can't see myself keeping up with you lot!

IoW enduro in May.

You can bunny hop them, however! As I discovered hooning downhill from the station a few weeks ago to spy, at the last moment, an arm sized branch in my way! Luckily, I have all of teh raddd skillz, and so hit up a sweet bunny hop, braw.
