I used to. Broke my scaphoid, scraped the skin off my face down to bone, "slightly" broke my jaw (no idea how that works was too hazy to remember to look at the Xray!) concussion for 4 days.

kinda gave up after that!

@ Meehaja - ouch, scaphoid fracture here too, got a screw in mine so I just cruise, with a wrist guard, don't fancy going through surgery again.

Edit: my fractured scaphoid was from mtb though.

The trucks and wheels were from the States, think I paid £70 ish.

Trucks are seismics, and the wheels are retro 70's

Thanks for the comments, this wasnt about my board but boards in general.

Took a couple of days to make, machine the strips, glue together, thickness, shape spray,

Here's a piccy of that task.

A plank of plywood would work just as well.

I used to ride an electric longboard, could get up to 30mph on that bad boy. Silent, only needed charging up twice a week and would commute 5 miles daily on it. Now that's what I call a fun longboard!!

I bought a Mindless a few months ago as part of my mid life crisis. After spending a few hours of me trying to stay upright on it my daughter Becky the Nutter (age 9) had a go, jumped on, and rolled off all casual like. So I bought her one too. They are great fun and if you can keep your hands in your pockets whilst riding you may even look cool.

Fell off mine (going too fast to stop) and bust a rib 2 months ago. Kinda didn't help with the cycling that.

I keep getting the urge to get another skateboard. I stopped skating when I was 19 but occasionally see the owner of the local skate shop pootling around town on his and I forget how good a method of city transport it is if you live somewhere mostly flat.

I have one... If you're going to ride it properly (like what I do) you will need grip tape... if you're going to ponce about then you won't need any.

I ride a foundation super co.

I had a foundation deck back in the late 80s. Well, for about a week before I went on one of my mad swapping sprees which finished up with a g&s florian bohm which I sold about 2 months later.

Sorry Sam69 but I haven't figured out how to post pictures yet. Mine's a standard Mindless Corsair though, and my daughter has a Mindless Raider to which I have fitted Venom conical soft (70D) bushes so she can turn it with her smaller weight. Went from "I can't do this, this is crap" to "Dad this is brilliant" overnight!
