i work in a brewery and the chiller to the cold room doesn't blow cold, it just moves the ambient air around, so the beer is getting a bit too warm. as far as i can see its just like 2 fridges with radiators and fans. is it like car air con and loses its coolant over time? do we just need to get it re gassed? thanks all.

Could be any number of things. If its suddenly gone tits up in this weather, chances are its not gas.
I appreciate this is stating the obvious, but is it actually set to 'cold'? Our work aircon does that if someone changes the mode.

could be a number of things , gas loss or compressor burn out.overload causing fuse to blow .
is any part of it hot?
is any of it making any noise?
might be best to buy a 3kw box chiller on ebay if there are any on there, they only go down to 16'c, but you can either trunk the coldair into your cellar, or place in cellar an trunk the warm air out and move the thermostat into the warm air flow so it consatntly runs

singletrackmind, yes both units are moving air, ie the fans are going round.
Is the compressor actually working?
Check that the condensor outside is not clogged up with crud/dust etc
Drink all the beer before it gets too warm?

Is there an external wall mounted box outside the cellar /brewery.?
Is this box doing anything, apart from a fan rotating?
It will be a borked compressor probably, dont screw around and get an aircon engineer in . In these temps your beer will only last 10 days or so at ambient . Better to pay foor an engineer than bin it having brewed it.
Do you have a spare box chiller that works? You could jury rig that to provide temp cooling ,
