Hi, flying into CDG and looking to get to SE central Paris.
What's my option other than a cab, which last time I went was expensive (I wasn't paying). It needs to be as simple as possible as I speak no French at all!
I will arrive locally at around 9am but can hang around at the airport for an hour or two if that helps avoid transport chaos?
Cheers
Pretty sure the trains go that way. RER . I suspect you can get a ticket online, but not sure how. Car traffic in Paris is a nightmare. You may be able to pick up a Velobike (electric scooter).
RER + Metro connections as required, it's by far the quickest and cheapest way to get around
RER B goes from CDG and heads out to south east Paris through Luxembourg and Cité Universitaire.
My destination appears to be walking distance to Gare de Lyon - is that close to your suggestions aP?
Change in Châtelet les Halles for Gare de Lyon, métro or RER A
Google images for "plan metro paris" should get you a metro/RER map.
The signing in the métro is all based on end-of-line signing. So look up the end of line station name to get you going in the right direction then get off when the train tells you you're at the right station.
As above, the RER is the only realistic route, but changing at Chatelet can be unpleasant as half the low life of Paris hang about there, and the other half wear uniforms and masquerade as security.
