You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Long shot I guess but I've got a screenplay I need to get out of me but can't actually get started. I can't get past the first page really. I've got the structure, most of the characters, and have had for a while but well, I dunno.
For context I've successfully written numerous short films and animated shorts which have been funded/produced. I think the longest script + shooting script + treatment and notes was 100 pages or so, but nothing feature length. Perhaps that's what is intimidating me. I don't think I've got writers block as such, but any tricks or advice on getting started would be appreciated.
Write a different scene much further on, rather than the bit you're stuck on.
Could you describe it to a friend and ask them to write up what they thought they heard then you adjust?
start something else. put it on the back burner. it'll come out when its ready
sorry.. I thought you meant this sort of writer
Write out the headlines of each chapter/scene, including a brief synopsis of each, and then fill in the blanks.
I think it seems somewhat less intimidating that way.
