Hi all, as title, present hunting for the missus.

What's out there that's decent at the moment?

Not bike specific but may get used on the bike.

I find the icebreaker stuff some of the best fitting for women. It actually has some shape to it. However I do find them too short in the body on the bike at 5’9” - smartwool is a better option for the taller lady.

If it’s a present then.... Findra, U.K. made, great company and a bit more stylish than the usual

I have a nice thicker base layer from north ridge from Go Outdoors which I really rate but could do with a new thinner version as my smartwool is a few sizes too big for me.

I don’t have a Findra top (I do have shorts) - agreed it would make a nice present.

FINDRA and Icebreaker would be my recommendations too. I've tried various other cheaper merino baselayers but found them to be itchier. I like the Mons Royale stuff too, but the gear I've had hasn't been 100% merino (but has been very nice indeed).

I recently got a Mons Royale baselayer - 100 % merino for this one and weight 190 gsm. I haven't tested it out yet but suspect it would be too warm for the bike on anything but the coldest of days, but should be just right for cold weather walking. A lovely piece of kit - really pleased with it.

Just bought some merino tops from Pashley for Mrs NBT. I got her a vest and a henley and she was so chuffed with it I had to order more

Dhb at Wiggle is good value and good quality. ISOBAA at Sport spursuit is not as good and bobbles quickly.

+1 for Howies, thier Merino stuff just seems borderline indestructable the missus and I have got a few pieces that must be over 10 years old now, countless items from other brands have long since died but the Howeies ones just seem to keep on trucking.
