I see all 3 series are starting/continuing at the same time more or less.

World Beyond is obviously aimed at younger audience but has potential.

Not watched ep16 of WD yet as like to watch 2x at a time to turn it into a "movie" every fortnight.

FTWD starts in few days I think and I now like it about as much as the original.

Been watching WD for nearly 10 years now and oits become a bit of a comfort blanket, particularly these days. Mind you, the season spent on that bloody farm almost ended the love from me. Fortunately the prison came along soon after and normal service was resumed.

Yeah, I do love The Walking Dead.😁

I think 10.16 was the season finale?
Season 11, which is meant to be two seasons in one and will run for something daft like two years, won't debut until 2021.

Might be worth watching episode 16 now.

I’m late to this party and binged the last 9 series over the few months. Started season 10 last night. Don’t know why it’s taken me so long to get into it as it’s bloody amazing.

How many actually new episodes have been released? I started watching one which was badged as new, but I think I'd already seen it. Then again, pretty much all the episodes look the same - wander around the woods, cursory fight for zombie-popping effects, deep chat between two leading characters that you can fast forward, bit more wandering, another deep chat, something vaguely threatening happens or a long-lost/new character turns up.

I remember when they had a whole season which just involved separate groups of people following signs along a railway track.

Apparently now that FTWD is evolving into the same basic formula, they're going to have another crack at it with 'Beyond the Walking Dead'.

I really like TWD and FTWD is pretty good. I watched ep.1 of World Beyond the other day and had to turn it off after 25 minutes as it was so slow. It just didn't grab my attention.

I was a bit disappointed with 10.16 as it felt like there were too many jumps between scenes/groups and detail was missing. However, the ending has opened up a few potentially good story lines so I'm looking forward to what is to come.

On The Talking Dead they said they are making another 6 episodes and then 2 final series each of 12 episodes over the next 2 years.

I've got the final episode ready to watch. I stick with it mainly because I've committed so much time and I need to see how it finishes!

I watch FTWD as well which I've enjoyed more recently, but I've just started watching series 5 and I feel like it's just the same thing again, yet another band of "bad people" to fight with. I thought after the end of the last series it might turn into some sort of mad Max style thing what with the big trucks heading out on the highway, or that they might actually explore and see some new places, but no such luck.

Yep, well sort of.

It's complex, aside from the mega money 6 part first series it's always been a relatively cheap TV show to make, especially given it's viewership at it's peak, but viewing figures have been in free fall for years and this is AMC last go as bringing people back.

So the headline is "FINAL SERIES OF THE WALKING DEAD!"

The reality is that this weeks episode was the last in the series and concluded the Whisperers Story.

But...

They've made an extra 6 episodes that are coming in about 4-5 weeks time, knowing them probably 3 now and 3 in Feb / March.

Then the 'final' series will start later in the year, it's 24 episodes long and will span 2021 to 2022.

So the 'final' series is effectively 30 episodes long and span 3 years.

Watching it and thinking about series gone by and reading how the story ends in the comics, it has a lot of parallels with covid actually, the initial panic and mass infection, the surviving through the middle and the ending is probably amazingly close to how Covid will be resolved, only with more Zombies obvs.

I'm in the same boat, I've come this far!

My Wife loves it though, she's never lost interest. I'd have given up years ago.

Invested a huge amount of time into it and loved it.Then,it suddenly turned into the "A team".Huge amounts of gunfire from weapons with limitless magazine capacity and what appeared to be bent barrels, evidenced by the inaccuracy.Tried another go at watching only to see Rick chasing a truck with a machine gun mounted in the back, the bullets from which went everywhere apart from Ricks torso.Jesus wept,i'm not ****ing ten years old.

I love it when a plandemic comes together!

The Negan war stuff was just ludicrous. I think it would be possible to just shoot their automatic weapons into the air Afghan-wedding-style and have a more successful hit rate on the enemy.

I get the feeling the source material was getting a bit repetitive and thin - Saviours war, Whisperer War, occasional new community with odd characteristics, like kings with real tigers - so the show should have made a clean break with it.

It has become pretty stagnant after a great start all those years ago. FTWD was great until they did away with the interesting characters until it became TWD a few miles away and not in the woods. Lenny James is a fantastic actor, but nice repentant Morgan is boring. Bring back unhinged Morgan.

I was into it and it was a 'couples' box set with my missus until was it season 7 when

SPOILER ALERT

Negan ****ted Glenn round the head with his studded bat. That was too much for my delicate other half so we stopped watching.

However, we re now separated so wondering if it's worth picking up where I left off. It was let's say formulaic when I stopped watching sounds like it's stayed that way. I.e group run away from hordes, find somewhere safe for a bit, gets compromised for some reason, group run away from hordes , wash and repeat

I left with Negan being part of the group so guess I didn’t see Rick leave.

It was frustrating when there was no kind of plan to end it in sight. I imagine that’s why the numbers dwindled. Why did they never get further across America? Why no government contact? Why no contact outside of the US? Was all a bit domestic.

They get sponsored by the state of Georgia to film there, which is why they never get the urge to go any further!

Gave up during season 7, read the odd episode review online and I’ve never felt I’m missing anything.

Will be glad to be rid of Rick. Neagan was right, Rick the Dick.

I started it 5 years ago laid up in hosptial with a badly broken spine, so I think I got through 3 series, then more during the 7 months off work on the settee.

It's not great now, but I stick with it.Fear is better, and I thought the new one was slow, bu hopefully it will pick up.

I loved the walking dead but found some of series 6 and 7 was too grisly for an me (the people on people violence more than the zombie violence) and gave up at the end of series 7. I'm going to give series 8 a go though. See how that goes.

I've given up now, I think I have one more episode of the Whisperer War series sitting there waiting, but can't be bothered. FTWD was promising, but has disappeared up it own backside now and is just as bad. All the interesting characters have disappeared, and those that are left have been neutered. And I didn't care about Morgan's inner struggle with violence before he left the main series, let alone now.

Managed to get every episode down to about half an hour by fast forwarding through any scene where a character meets another character and settles down for a little heart-to-heart.
