Got a Seat Leon SE TDi (03). Which for some reason the rear nearside tyre is wearing excessively on the outside. (new tyres 3 months and its slick on the offending side) All other wheels are true to alignment as just has them checked. According to the Garage its a fixed axle with no adjustment to track the wheel back to alignment.
Before anyone asks, I haven't hit a kerb or any other object to warrant such wear, so thats ruled out. There is no knocking or play to suggest any bush wear. If it were bush wear this would be noticeable when driving ? also would the tyre not wear unevenly ?
Any ideas ?
Common problem on the sporty variants of Leons as they are lowered therefore have more camber,not sure about the SE version. Try a four wheel alignment check to confirm, although its a fixed beam axle some modification can be performed using shims.
I have a golf and have played the non adjustable rear axle game.
Buy a manual, go to a national branded tyre supplier, get a "free" four wheel alignment check. When they give you the read out open the page in the manual to wheel alignment.
Expect conversion about non adjustment and seized nuts!
