My hound ate a large chunk of bone on Monday (not chicken bones - something unidentified in the park) and has not been observed to have passed a solid since. She doesn't seem to be in any discomfort, but has made unsuccessful attempts to achieve bowel relief.

Should I take her to the vets now, or am I being a namby-pamby wuss who should wait for nature to take its course?

If you're sure she's not been for a jobbie since Mon, tke her now. My boss lost his last Cocker Spaniel after he ate a wine bottle cork and it did it's job on the dog's innards.....

My springer ate a large knuckle bone once. His "movement" for getting rid of that one was quite painful for him, but he managed it in the end.

I'd say wait for another day if she's not in discomfort.
