hello.  I have a Panasonic TX-L42E6B tv,  which is 4 years old, for some reason the TV guide. I longer shows a lot of the channel information despite me updating the promoted messages that flash up.

any ideas as to why this maybe happening and a solution to rid the issue .

secondly, the bbc I player really struggles and mostly does not load up programmes, I have fibre internet at 40mb .  A solution to problem Please

thanks

I would try a factory reset first (i.e. the "turn it off and back on again" routine).

There should be a default reset in the menu. Try that.

Update the digital channels - a recent change made a couple of our TV's go wonky.

As said, a re-boot/default can help with the SMART apps not working - we had either Channel 4 or 5's app stop about a year ago on our main Samsung TV, and the answer was a reset - it worked, but we had to re-input all passwords.

Not sure  of your first problem but the second regarding the smart functionality then that is easily fixed by accessing the smart features via other devices. My opinion on smart yv’s is to not use the smart features. They’re always limited, not able to keep pace with developments. Tvs need less features not more, then should be a screen and nothing more. Currently I have smart apps available on my tv, BR player, Home cinema amp, digital TV set top box, Apple TV, amazon stick and other smart devices that can stream to the engine v or any of the other devices mentioned here. So really no need for smart functionality on the tv or to use it if it had it.

With the iplayer thing, we had similar with our newish LG smart TV. Speed test would show it as less than 1MBPS whereas my phone next to it was getting 20+MBPS. Turned out that because the TV was default set on a quick start mode then it wasn't fully turning off, so was eternally connect to the wifi which was affecting the speed. Set it to properly turn off each time and now it works fine and gets similar speed to other devices in the house.

Auto-retune it.
