Hopefully some one on here can help !
We have a shared access road that is shared between 3 properties it runs behind our properties and is for the garages.
Truth is my neighbour owns the land and myself and neighbour have legal right of way (have seen original plans from 1933)
There are 2 massive trees that need cutting down and one that needs shaving (eh !)
My neighbour got a quote from (his wife's niece) which was for £900 this was to cut to the stump and remove all wood debris.
We are in the leafy North London does the quote sound feasible ?
I know its his land but telling him he should be paying is not an option...gotta live in harmony with thy neighbour !
Sounds like a good price to me!
Make sure its not protected trees with a tree preservation order on them, touch them aty your peril, and massive fines. or in a conservation area
project =good point we are not in a conservation area and are conifers protected ?
If they are massive, that is a good price. You'd be looking at £100 each stump minimum, for a start. Tree surgeon for 5 years.
Conifers won't be TPO'd (if you mean leylandii). Other pines might be.

leylandii thats the ones !
Hold that thought: it seems like some maverick Tree Officers have TPO'd these monsters, so would be worth a call to the Local Authority to confirm. Good chance they won't have a protection order, though.
Will get neighbour to confirm its his project...
thanks for all your help
If they are protected by mistake, i could "accidently" bark ring them next time I deliver your supply of tea (to your neighbour....again!)

If your coming to the smoke again then feel free to park ...
Note that TPOs do not protect trees from felling where a new development has been granted planning permission by the Planning Authority, if the tree’s presence would impede the implementation of that planning permission.
Hardly a very effective PO then....
