I have a small utility room to be tiled, DIY job. basically a short run of worktop bookended by walls at each end. I am using beveled edge metros.

my question is regarding the internal corners. what is the best detail? assuming ill have a mix of the 5mm beveled edges and 8mm cut egdes.

i was thinking i could use a section of 8mm box trim to but up against? not sure whether this is excessive or not? maybe just plenty of grout will tidy it up?

i havent got the skills or the tools to scribe or mitre them...

If it was a bathroom id say a wide silicone bead to cover the uneven ends but perhaps a metal /plastic corner trim? The bevel isn't too pronounced on metro tiles so should be easy to hide

Depends what pattern you're doing. If it's running bond and your half tiles are starting in the most visible corner then you ll definitely have a mismatch with bevel ends and cut ends but should be easy to hide

Careful use of grout worked for me when I used similar tiles.

Could be considered unorthodox but when I did my kitchen I just put a bit of extra tile adhesive on the end of the full tiles so that they *just* sit out from the wall at the corner and end up almost flush with the cut tile. Between that and making sure that each cut tile was butted up against full tile on the other wall and it wasn't to hard to hide with a neat silicone bead.

If I was doing it again though I'd either not use beveled tiles at all or at least not use a staggered brickwork pattern.

If there was only on internal corner then the solution would be to start in the corner with alternating quarter tile and a three quarter tile so that the entire corner is made of cut edges and it looks like the full tile is wrapping round the corner and work out from there with the half lap bond.

Unfortunately, you have two internal corners to work with and , unless the length of worktop is lucky enough to tie in with multiples of the tile length, then this won't really work.

Regardless you'll still need to scribe the corner tiles or it's always gonna look like a dogs dinner.

Internal corners I just scribed tiles

It's the external corners that have been troubling me.

They will likely get a trim piece.
