I've just got to work and don't feel well.
About half six tonight I felt really dizzy, and have felt very nauseous since then. I drove to near the station and got on my bike for the last bit and nearly fell off it. Couldn't sleep on the train in which is really unusual for me, and riding the 4 miles in to work after the train was difficult as it felt like I was drunk (haven't touched any alcohol since Xmas day). I've not felt like this before and it's disturbing! No cold/flu type symptoms so I don't think it's covid.
Anyone got any ideas?
Migraine?
Any tunnel vision?
Phone nhs 111 now. They may be busy but wait. They’ll help you by asking some questions that result in a) reassurance it’s no big deal b) they’ll arrange a gp to call you back shortly and talk more or c) they’ll tell you to go to a&e right now.
Why on earth are you on here. Get on to NHS call 111* if you are worried.
*Well that's what it is for NHS 24 in Scotland.
Lots but without face to face I can’t say for sure.
111 is a good call.
You may have some kind of inner ear infection causing labyrinthitis
Consult the doc if it persists. Worth doing a lateral flow anyhow so you can tell them you've had a negative.
Also, tell your colleagues/manager what you just told us and that’s why you’ll be sitting quietly in the corner until 111 can talk to you. Take no shit.
Tbf I missed those vital points

I have done and they're all OK, they've told me to go home but to be honest I don't want to do the journey at the moment (2.5 - 3 hours).
I'm usually in very good health and rarely ill so this feels properly weird to me.
Lateral flow test is negative.
Yeah, see if you can find somewhere quiet and darkish to sit.
Does have the hallmarks of an incoming migraine. I get a drunk one boat feeling then tunnel vision.
Then a bastard of a headache
The symptoms you describe sound like vertigo. The causes I won't attempt to diagnose because I'm not a doctor.
I don't get headaches as a rule, I know people who get migraines but I've never had one.
Labyrinthitis (middle ear - where your balance sensors live - infection) seems a likely contender indeed. Debilitating at the time, but as I understand it, easily enough treated.
Hope you get sorted soon matey.
Cheers all. Going to do as @martinhutch said and going to find a dark quiet corner to sit in until the morning.
Yep sounds vestibular
You dead yet?

Had this a couple of times... It's horrible - it's so nice to sit in bed with the curtains closed not moving a muscle.
Not sure what treatment I had but I've not had it for about 17 years.
Good luck getting home OP.
You dead yet?
Not quite! 😂
I felt really bad last night, I don't think I've ever been that bad so quickly.
I drank a lot of water at work last night and that made me feel a lot better by 4am, I reckon I may have been dehydrated. I've not been drinking much lately because of the long journey to work, I don't like using train toilets since covid kicked off. Thinking back over the last few weeks I've mostly been drinking tea at work so I'm going to make a conscious effort to do more water and see if the dizzyness reoccurs. If it does I'll visit the doc.
Thanks for all your replies last night, I was pretty worried!
OK, I'm not a doctor, but you might as well give this a try...
And maybe have a read of this...
