Our Working Cocker also has 'sleepy dust' in a morning..., so maybe a spaniel thing?

If it's only recently started:
one eye = probable scratch
two eyes = infection.
Vet + eye drops = fixed in a couple of days

How much eye gunk are you finding?

Our springer gets a fair amount of dark couloured 'sleep' in the corner of her eyes, which we pick off her (daily, as and when) and she will often try to eat it(!)

We also have a Basset x spaniel though, so don't find weeping unusual! As others have said, if its a new and very obvious thing or seems to be causing discomfort, a call or visit to the vet would be my approach.

we have a 9yr old springer, who occasionally gets 'sleep' in her eyes, but it's just like a congealed mess, not a lot of it, just a bit which I suspect is just sleep. Heidi's eye gunk is a dark colour. I'd get down the vets.

Get a vet to check it out Pronto just in case it's an infection

Renton is there enough there in the morning to make a little trail down the side of her nose? Shouldn't really be any there at all.
Our cocker had an infection a couple of months ago. Cream from the vet cleared it up pronto. We still have some left in the tube if you want it, save you a £30 vet bill.
