Hi all.
We have a Sonos system at home : 2 play ones, 1 Sonos one with Alexa and will be adding a beam at Xmas. We also have two echo dots.
The problem is that there are four of us all with different emails trying to connect to sonos and the echos and we can't get them to do announcements and the wife has lost loads of music she has paid for and can't listen too.
Is it possible to set it all up under one Sonos account and make it so we can add all our Amazon accounts to that one Sonos and Alexa account.
Cheers.
I think there is a way to teach alexa to recognise difference users. Then, I 'think' you can use that feature to interact with Sonos and access different accounts. I seem to have managed to get Sonos to us my wife's spotify account when she tells it to play her god awful music tastes through sonos via alexa so my spotify account most played are now not corrupted..
How I did it was one of those instantly forgettable things though. Learnt how to do it on the Sonos forum which had pretty good and well used sub forums. One specifically for Sonos and Alexa.
Although the 5 of us each have our own Spotify account, we just use a single Spotify account with the Sonos system (4 play:1 a play:3 and a beam) and everyone adds/shares playlists to that Spotify account.
I'm not sure you can have more than one email account associated with either Alexa or Sonos - might be wrong though.
(Yes you can have Alexa learn various voices but I'm not keen on that and therefore don't know what you can then achieve)
I don’t use Alexa but you definitely can have multiple accounts on the same streaming service for Sonos - just go on adding more, when you use it in the app there’s a dropdown to pick which account you’re using.
My lads have an echo dot each in their rooms and when my wife tries to do an announcement to them to say tea is done etc it doesn't work as they aren't registered to the same Alexa app as the Sonos one with built in Alexa. So frustrating
You could just call or email Sonos - they are incredibly helpful.
