You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
So following advice from this thread I popped into Cambridge and picked up a perfectly presentable suit. Bargain price, happy days.
Got home, gave mrs petrieboy a twirl and she notices this bad boy
(I didn't steal it)
Now I know the correct answer is "go back to the shop, wee in shoes, bombers etc" but the shop is a drive, park and ride and a walk away and I frankly don't have time. So, any ideas???
Magnets if I remember correctly
put it in the freezer till its brittle then **** it with a hammer
I'll ask at work tomorrow, there's bound to be someone on G wing who'll know.
I found one of those once. I'd been thing about how they must work. After we hacked it apart it turns out I was exactly right. I'm a bloody genius 🙂
(we snipped the pin with er.. snips.. btw)

Proper lol there 🙂
Fabric looks cheap - leave the tag on for increased value!
Heat up a pin, melt through the end.
A bit of a twirl around in the end and you can get the bit out that holds it in.
I have a bottle of whisky in the other room that still has one of them on it. 😳
it's a normal pin inside the bigger plastic bit. Evans left similar tag on mates jersey. Loosen it a bit with some pliers than just cut the metal bit with cable cutters. Another option is to go to a normal clothing shop take the receipt with you and they should be able to take it off with their tag remover.
you need a magnet 🙂
also pro tip line ur bag with tin foil to stop those alarms going off 🙂
Junior hacksaw should cut through the pin in a few seconds without damaging it
The plastic bit contains a load of small ball bearings if I remember correctly that grip the pin when inserted. The shop gizmo's that remove these tags are just circular magnets which release the ball bearings away from the pin.
So you need magnets or just cut through the pin.
I don't think that tag contains any dye so i think you're safe just to hack the plastic off.
some also spray indelible dye out.
Found on of those on a suit I was wearing to an interview the following morning at 8 am.... A wallop with a hammer will get it off no probs just pull the material clear and hit the cone section and it will come off it's not an ink one so you'll be fine!!
Got the job by the way 😆
Years ago my mother got home from shopping with one of those on, a call to the store and they sent 2 peeps out with a device to remove it.
I once did one of those with a Dremel.
Strong magnet is 'the' way.
First - try calling the shop and see what they say
Second - pop into a local clothes shop with the same tags, take the suit and your receipt and ask nicely if they will take it off for you.
got to be worth a try!
