Have a question about a loud noise if there is.

I'm not, but a car noise isn't very likely to be exclusive to one model and trim, especially as that one has a lot of commonality with other VAG group cars. Ask away.

Just 1st & 2nd?  DSG or manual?

Have you checked the exhaust mountings?

When the experts get here, I think they'll ask for more specifics.

One bang as you floor the throttle, or more than one as the revs rise?

Sound like some components hitting each other, or an engine process noise, (like a backfire or something)?

Any repairs or modification recently?

Always done it, or a new thing.

I've  only had it e few days , its manual , mostly happens in first near the top of the rev range, when it bangs i ease off so don't know if it would continue,  the noise is really loud as if some has hit the bottom of the car with a sledge hammer, no mods.

Gear box mountings? Has it had a new clutch? Would hope not at 2016 unless it's been ragged!

Sounds like Turbo waste gate or something similar. The bang could be the fuel exploding withing the Exhaust.

Dog bone mount

Though they aren't great from the factory if you're brutal with them

SEATCupra.net forums for the upgraded offerings, but it's an easy fit

I have a 17 plate Cupra (300) is it "axle/wheel tramp" ? I get this if I floor it, especially noticeable if damp.

ESC light flashing and wheel spin, then the loud bang?  that's the ESC firmly hitting the brakes on the spinning wheel.

It will be either the traction control, or axle tramp. It's difficult to put 300Hp through the front wheels in 1st or 2nd gear.

Ah, so that's what it is! Had that on my 300 a couple of times, once within the first 500 miles which had me panicking. Happened to me when accelerating hard and a bump in the road made the wheels lose traction. Horrible, horrible sound.

It's a pity the Leon Cupra doesn't get 4 wheel drive across the range - I don't want/like the estate version.

It is indeed a horrible bang, like you just hit a big pot hole you didn't see.  It's an audible reminder you are being a k**b.  The wheel spin is very obvious and the ESC warning also comes in plenty of time to lift off and find some grip, if you choose to ignore those signs.... The car goes bang at you.

Mine wasn't spinning until it hit the bump and got light so never got any sign to lift off.

Never experienced the axle wheel/tramp either, try not to spin the wheels to avoid the cost of new tyres too quickly 🙂

My 300 has done it a few times mainly in the damp and wet as said above, nasty noise and worried me the first time.
