When you say rides, what are you looking for. "The Blind" chain gang rides on a Tuesday if you are quick and able to ride in a bunch at race pace. It's normally pretty full on depending on who turns up.

Gosforth Road Club run a slightly more relaxed chain gang as well. You'd probably need to join (tenner). It's about an hour at 40kph. Set route - except I'm not sure which one they are doing as they shut a road. There's a facebook group but all organised through whatsapp.

Chopwell is fun for a mooch off road but it's taken me ages to get there the last few times from my new workplace so I've sort of given up mid week. Most other stuff that is local is more gravel than mtb It's fun enough on an xc hardtail but a drag unless on anything more substantial.

NMBC (Newcastle Mtb club) ride on a thursday generally . Not sure if anything happens on a tuesday.

No idea what other clubs do. You might have to look them up. Try:

NTR (North Tyneside riders)
Blaydon CC
Muckle CC

They all have mid week stuff. First two more social, last one more serious. They do off road these days but still think they are mainly road clubs at heart.

Where abouts will you be and for how long?

Chopwell woods ideal then. Strava heatmap it for the off piste.

Beware pruda. Picturesque quiet Northumbrian village it is not.

Can you see this?

The bit out towards chopwell village is an actual proper velosolutions pump track. Quite fun. There are only really 2 marked trails in the woods but the rest is fairly obvious and it's only small.

I can supply some road routes. One of my favourite is this one. There are flatter options especially if you head north towards Stamfordham. The Derwent reservoir is also well worth a ride. On a summers evening it is lovely. Hilly 10M on a tuesday I think?

The only ride NTR do on a Tuesday is a 20 miles road "training" run up the coast from Tynemouth with different paced groups. Probably not worth travelling from Prudhoe.

Sounds like Chopwell would be ideal for you. Chopwell Tumblers ride is Thursday night, but maybe join the Facebook group and see if there's anyone willing to show you round. I would offer but I'm busy, sorry.

There's heaps in Chopwell, explore, find some Strava segments of heat maps where to look. It's not big but there's probably 1000m of descending packed in to a 20km loop of you try.

It's covered in dog shit though.
