To fill the winter nights, I bought a PS3 with Fifa14 and GTA 5.
Played both, for about 2 hours each. Whilst they are clearly brilliant, they're just too complicated for me, either in controls or scope of gameplay.
I'm from an era of Wipeout for the PS1 and TOCA Touring car.
Can anyone suggest some simple, enjoyable games with good gameplay?
Ta.
£15 ppg?
Would you mind reporting please?!
Browse the Playstation store. Loads of simple stuff on there. Try The Cave for a cool puzzle platform 🙂
There is GT5 for driving, which is basically the same experience as always has been, and there is also Wipeout which is also basically the same as always.
Try Journey from the PlayStation store it's a great little game, simple and beautiful.
From another middle-aged fart.... I really liked Driver San Francisco.
Can't be that complicated if I managed it!
The cod series are pretty simple. See baddie, shoot baddie, repeat.
Little Big Planet?
I really want to have a go on journey, unfortunately I have an Xbox so can't.
need for speed most wanted, awesome and you can buy extra cars and mods to save time.
get the latest Dirt or GRID. Brilliant, simple, racing games.
Also Driver: San francisco is very enjoyable. Best drift experience of any driving game.
Non-driving games, COD games are great, RAGE is good.
Borderlands 2 is freaking awesome although you may find it a bit complex.
lego Indiana jones
lego star wars
lego batman
lego harry potter
The Last of Us - Epic Game! ( maybe not that simple though!)
The Last of Us is indeed excellent, but I too am a middle aged console retard and lost interest quickly as I don't have 4 thumbs, 19 fingers and 3 brains - Easy it is not.
should have bought a gameboy

Do not trust this man. He appears to be some sort of electronic meth dealer.
I think Steam went wrong when I had to rebuild my computer. It says I have played 509 hours of Borderlands 2. It is definitely not that much, but it really is a game that can suck you in.
Portal 2 is brilliant and very different from most console games.
Really interesting puzzle game.
+1 for Portal 2. I also feel your pain, my fat PS3 died recently and I replaced it with the Last of Us package, I'm sure it's a great game, but felt a touch Dragon's Lair to me and also looks to need a significant amount of time invested in it. Portal 2 never felt like that.
Similarly Child of Eden is a great, simple, game, a sequel of sorts to Rez. I also enjoyed Batman Arkham Asylum, not got the sequel yet but both can be picked up cheaply.
Only recently found out you can buy some old PS1 and PS2 games online from the Playstation store - might treat myself to Populous to while away the hours over Christmas. 🙂
The Last Of US, Gran Turismo
Try some indie stuff. Hotline Miami is excellent for example.
Some great suggestions thank you.
Especially this one 😉

Some people will have misread this and are going to be very disappointed when it arrives in the post.
