So have a two year old kitchen and the mixer tap has come loose.
Have identified that it is the fixing nut (item F on page 2 of this spec sheet - Single Lever Tap)
However access to the fixing nut to tighten is limited due to proximity to kitchen cupboard frames etc - see photo of nut.
I have identified that an Adjustable Basin Wrench might do it but before I buy, is this the right thing...?
Any other better tool?
Thanks Stoner - think that looks better option to the adjustable one. Will look for one of those tomorrow.
Toolstation do next day delivery for free on orders over £10. Just add a pack of fuses, or something similarly cheap and useful, and order them now, you should get them tomorrow.
1/4 inch drive socket set with long extension or wobble joint should do that easily
For some reason those threads are always left about 30mm longer than they need to be and make it impossible to use a normal socket. I always unscrew the threaded rod from the tap and cut it to the right length.
If you can't get it to tighten right it's sometimes easier to take the sink out, fix the tap and replace.
Thanks BigJohn - I've ordered suggested items (plus some more gaffer tape as always need some).
Will see what happens - taking sink out might be a little harder operation.
Separate isolation valves? Turn the water off, loosen the flexibles at the bottom and unscrew at the tap (they should be hand-tight only). Access should now be pretty straightforward, and the tap can be pulled out if you need to reseat a gasket
