we can get a grant for work to upgrade a few of our worksations, are there any other webiste apart from dell where you can faff about with spec and get a price at the end?

I can't vouch for their workstations but the laptops and desktops and really well made.

My laptop is a Dell for this reason alone. Apart from the bottom-feeders I'm not aware of anywhere else that does it (though I've not looked for a year or two).

in laymans terms a high end PC, its for our drawing office

Ah no problem there's a company called workstation specialists ring em tell em what you want tell em how much everyone else is charging and see if they can beat the price I must go through 2-3 of these a year for running 3d and cfd have to admit was using apple last year and had no complaints with it being very very fast and very reliable
Dell were doing some cheap starter box in their precision range which iirc t1600 pretty quick considering the price

Some office types class their optiplex as a workstation.

Tbh used dells for years and never had any issues
