Bit of a longshot, got my first 4kUHD project, workflow and and kit is worrying me, my current mac set up is a few years old, don't really want to upgrade, especially to Yosemite OS. Any tips for AE or C4D?
Anything that'll play games at 4k flies with less demanding tasks
Got a box from PC Specialist last year GTX780 16GB RAM Asus monitor it throws stuff on the screen and moves it about as fast as the mouse moves
Been shooting/editing and compositing in 4k for a few years now (since cs 5.5) - we are a Red 4/5k (soon to be 6k) based Production facility.
You will have very few problems to be honest. We're not Mac base so I can't speak for hardware but we don't have the best cuda cards either but all works very well. Get a good chunk of memory for AE.
Why don't you knock up some stuff and see what your systems are like?
@ rone - cheers, not too concerned with edit and footage side, more 3D animation and graphics heavy sequences, will have a crack and outsource if needs be.
