You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Gutting and redoing my new house is costing more than expected due to a few unexpected finds, such as the original lead wiring still being in use! So before I start selling some bikes (fingers crossed I don't have to), I thought I would have a look round and see what else I had, which is when I came across my old games consoles, an Atari 2600, a Nintendo Nes, a Nintendo SNES and a Playstation PS1. Is there a market for second hand consoles such as mine, or are they pretty worthless?
I've seen all of the above in charity shops for a few quid. So no, unfortunately.
I've just had a look through Ebay completed listings - Atari 2600 £20 to £40 depending on games and accessories. I thought it might have been a bit more.
SNES is doing similar amounts. I think ebay is your best bet.
Interested in the SNES, you got any games for it? 😀
Old consoles are like old girlfriends, never go back once you have dumped them.
It all seems fun when you first play with them again, but after a while you realise why you got rid of them and upgraded to a new model.
So no, there is not any money to be made.
Lifer I have got loads of games, i'd say about 30 odd, i'll try and dig them out tonight and let you know what I've got, it's also got 2 controllers.
Cool, email in profile!

If somebody had explained that to me the other way around when I was younger, I could have avopided a lot of awkwardness.
Will do.

Well put! 🙂
Saying that, I do have a boxed up SNES, Commodore64 and NES.
I do dig out the SNES every now and then to play Street Fighter II Turbo with my 7 year old son: can't beat the joy in getting a double perfect finishing with a dragon punch whilst screaming 'IN YOUR FACE BLANKA!' 😉

Rubbish, new games are easy (thus boring), it's all about how shiny you can make it or how many enemies are on screen or what motion control you can get into a game. The last one that I felt was a challenge was BLACK on the PS2.
Super Mario World is still the best game ever.
Really depends what the games and condition of boxrs, manuals etc as to value.
PAL version of Secret of Mana on the SNES used to go for about £80.00 on it's own. Superb game too!
Possibly not so much now with decent emulators available.
I've still got a PS2 and a Dreamcast (yes, it was me who bought one!) as well as the Wii and still use them.
EDIT: I can see where you went wrong there Lifer, but Zelda: A Link To The Past is the bestest game ever. 🙂
Playing it again on the Gameboy at the mo. Still brilliant.
Super Mario World is still the best game ever.

Don't know about that, Super Mario Galaxy for the Wii is awesome, especially with the interactivity of the controllers.
On-line gaming has pushed the consoles in to a new era I think.
Super Mario World is still the best game ever.
🙄
I'm not even going to respond that that*
*Oh, i just did.
You can't beat killing your mates and random people with COD MW2. It's the only game I've played since I got my PS3 in january.
