I'm so middle-aged I know...
I got the story when I got home last night. Miele TT5000 vacuum was cutting out yesterday (over-heating i suspect), then coming back on. Now today it's dead! Bag was full and filter mucky but it was used each time it came back to life (perhaps knackering something?).
Changed the fuse but guessing the motor might be borked. Any other easy check options for home DIY?
Thanks
Chris
Contact Miele customer service. They doa back to new rebuild with a collection service. It's not too expensive either.
Thanks TiRed, I checked that out. £99 is pretty good but got to decide whether it's worth it as it's an old model.
Cheers
If it's under two years old, they should replace it free of charge.
Initially Miele offered me the rebuild service, until I pointed out that the charge is not far off the cost of what I paid for it and would take my hard-earned cash somewhere else.
Plus, it was less than two years old and under EU warranty for electrical goods still covered. They replaced free, plus gave me two years’ worth of bags.
I have the same model and it went bang.
I took it apart and found the contact inside the cable rewind mechanism was shorting out... Going to be £30 to replace the entire mechanism when I get round to it.
Worth stripping it to see what's wrong.
Thanks Sharkbait, I’ll take it apart and maybe get it running again.
