I'm trying to implement this script into a Wordpress post, but I just can't get it to work. Then I noticed that it doesn't even work on the actual link...

Can anyone help me out?

😐

Have you got a JavaScript blocker enabled?

Old code..

That functionality exists in the browser. Do you really need to bother?

How about a custom google search instead?

A javascript page search seems a bit redundant these days I've of thought?

You could add a line of text that says "press Ctrl-F to search this page!!"

Maybe with an animated .gif of an 'under construction' road sign.

Thanks guys, got it sorted in the end.

Exactly! but the guy I'm doing the site for insists on it 🙄

Query;

How far should one go in persuading a customer about what not to do, before just giving up and doing exactly what they want?

Think I'll ask him if he wants it to look like this.

Thanks.

It's basically a collection of short story's. We decided on the Wordpress route. I set it all up, but then he realised that he'd have to add them all in separately, or pay someone to do it. So he just lumped the whole lot in to one massive post. Copied and pasted from word. He then gets back in touch saying the Wordpress search function 'doesn't work'...

Ah. I think my response would've been, "and?"

Tell him you've already written the search facility, he just needs to tap F3.

Quite.

I'll add a couple of these and charge him an extra £800. That'll keep him sweet.

Just add some section tags and a menu?

http://para.llel.us/support/tutorials/linking-menu-items-to-sections-on-the-same-page/

That's not a bad idea. Thing is, the content isn't static. It's growing all the time as he finds new material. I'm talking about hundreds of short stories...
