Samsung Galaxy Ace II

Not got loads of Apps running.

Battery lasting about 10 hours even though I'm not using it.

Ideas?

Check your GPS settings are on device only rather than high accuracy

Harry, I had the same issue on my Galaxy S2. It would charge ok and then after 2hrs be flat. New battery sorted it and its been fine since.

Take off all the location settings, the apps that need "push" notifications, 3d screen settings, mail push/pull only on those mailboxes you use regularly, ****ter/farcebook, loose some of your music storage, vids too. Then de power it. Turn it off, take the battery out and leave it rest for a couple of hours. Then charge it without turning it on.

Not a lot else to suggest 😐

Look at your battery usage in settings, it should tell you.

Are you using a task killer? Don't do that.

Got two batteries. Both are draining quickly.

Task killer?

Task killers stop background tasks, but can actually make things worse on android after 2.x. I'd restore factory settings of you really can't fix it with settings

An app which, erm, kills tasks.

People install them because, well, they fundamentally misunderstand how Android memory management works. They often have the opposite effect to the one intended, draining your battery in quicksticks.

I've not intentionally installed anything like that.

Android OS accounts for 71% of battery usage but I've got next to nothing else running.

Have a look at Juice Defender and / or Better Battery Stats on the store perhaps. The first manages power saving and the second may tell you what's going on.

Can you remove the battery on the Samsung or is it sealed? Pulling and replacing may help, if you can.

Have you recently been forced to install facebook messenger?
I've heard that it kills batteries for some people.

Batteries have a number of charges 'limit', beyond this performance just falls off.

Have you updated Google Play services recently? I have a strong suspicion that it was to blame for my recent battery drain.
