New phone time. Want to move away from crapberry, quite fancy a HTC phone maybe the sensation, but some of the reviews look a bit ropey.
Any realtime users on here?

I was making the same choice last week. Having had a Hero for the last year I was keen on the Sensation, so I did a bit of digging. The Sensation hasnt yet got a release date on Orange so and got the new Samsung Galaxy SII. Stunning phone. Beats the Sensation in every review I read. In use it really is in a different league to the Hero it replaced. Very happy with it.
Orange gave me a release date of 21st June for the Sensation but HTC were a few weeks late with Vodafone deliveries.
I also looked @ Samsung Galaxy SII but read that the battery life was pretty poor.
I'd like to try them back to back before I buy.
anyone?
All the reviews I read (lots!) said that although the Galaxy S2 slightly has the edge (in most areas), the Sensation was still a very good option.
I'm used to my htc hero so would have preferred the Sensation but i think i'll wait for Android3 phones to come out instead & save my pennies.
I had an email today from mobiles.co.uk telling me the HTC was available on Orange now.
Waiting for the Sensation to come on T-Mobile. I've threatened to leave to go Vodafone to get the phone and they have offered me a good deal to stay, they just couldn't tell me when the phone will be out.
I've read the reviews and like above they say the Galaxy just edges it, but having had a Hero for 20 months i can't recommend HTC enough
I have one and love it, not had a Samsung. So can't compare them but it does everything I want it to, posting this now on mine using WiFi, good sound, video and camera, email, documents ect.

Still showing as pre order on the website.
I went from a Hero user to the Samsung and to be honest I prefer the Samsungs UI. Its the Andriod has not been played around with as much as HTC have.
I suspect they will both be great phones.
phones will never get android 3 (honeycomb) it's a tablet OS, optimized for, well, tablets. Who knows what the next phone version of android will be numbered (although we know it's called "ice cream sandwich")but I suspect 2.4 or 3.1
as for the sensation? Awesome, Awesome phone... and while the s2 is AMAZING, personally I cant stand touch whizz and would have the sensation. Very close mind, both are awesome. It also depends on what you want... TechRadar did a very good direct comparison.
i went from a blackberry storm (which i quite liked, so perhaps you should take my opinion with a pinch of salt) to a sensation and it's a revelation!
everything apart from emails (a bit slower to come through) is a million miles better than the BB; camera is v. good, sound is brill for a phone, it's so quick i use it instead of the laptop for surfing at home, coupled with a better screen than the laptop its pretty amazing! its also pretty whizzy and looks and feels nice to boot.
a mate with the samsung prefers mine, although i thought they were both really good.
I'm in the same predicament as the earlier posts: Hero towards end on contract. TBH I'm not totally happy with the prospect of either considering the price.
Having used my GF's Galaxy S I really like a lot about the UI. SGS2 is supposed to be better still. Read about the sensation having some animation glitches which is unacceptable for such a powerful phone but then it does have the higher resolution which I think is the big stumbling block that the SGS does not. SGS2 is quite plastic while the Sensation is pretty solid.
If taking a two year contract I want it very future proofed. Also, I'm not sure if the Sensation is even in 2.3 yet.
I think I'll be waiting either for a SGS2 with higher res. or sorted sensation/next HTC.
Both run 2.3.3 so totally up to date, as new as android gets.
The SGS2 actually has the better screen... the res on the HTC is better, but the Super Amoled tech on the S2 is better, super clear pictures, very smooth video, super bright, low power consumption (the battery life on the s2 is better) and great in bright light (unlike the HTC)
as for "glitches" in the Sence ui on the HTC... nonsense... a few pre production units were slightly laggy, but the production device is smoother than warm butter. Best android overlay out there.
neither have amazing build quality compared to something like a Desire s (cast alu uni-body is amazing) but neither is bad, the HTC edges it I think. As for furure proof? both will be well supported and both, as flagship phones, will stick around for a long time.... the HTC may be "replaced" a few more times than the S2 in 2 years, but only because HTC release so many more phones at the top end of the market. TBH though, I'd say the HTC is more "future proof" the ui is WAY more modern, and the processor is huge (the s2's processor is huge too, but if the original galaxy s is anything to go by, it wont handle updates as well)
your choice, but i'd have the HTC
Just been to a few phone shops & still can't decide - to top it all, I ask about how rugged they are & the guy in the shop shows me the IP67 Motorola
I go in considering two & come out with a third option - so much for narrowing it down.
