Final series just started on Sky Atlantic. All the previous series have been brilliant.

There's a "making of" documentary too, "A Story Called Gomorrah" which is a great insight. The filming locations were amazing. And I never realised it was so popular throughout the World.
Anyway, last series, so watch it!

Yup watching it now , It's outstanding as was L'immortale. Really wish I'd watched a recap of season 4 though . Gennaro and Ciro are brilliant characters.

Really like this.

...also, don't miss the easily missed film "the Immortal" [grrr. Just beaten to this and in classier Italian too...] released end of 2019, that has Ciro's back story and what happens to him after the end of series 3, also on Now TV with all five series.

Really wish I’d watched a recap of season 4 though

Likewise. It's been a long time and I've not got a clue what's happening. Generally, and also in Gomorrah 😁

Is there a recap of season 4? I've struggled to find one.

I started s5 yesterday and was kind of expecting the first episode to have a little refresher at the start. It didn't and so I'm also left watching and wondering what's going on.

Yeah, they've never done a recap - maybe this'll be of assistance:

Absolutely love it & I’ve managed to get through episodes 1-3 of this series today while Mrs E has been out and about.
No spoilers, but it looks like it’ll be as good as ever

Cheers. Was hoping someone somewhere had done a quick couple of minute video recap but never mind - I'm 4 episodes in now and in the moment enough now.

Funny though, seeing as though each episode ends with preview clips of the next one in the credits, but they don't like recaps for people with bad memories like me.

That's where NowTV comes in. They emailed me a £1 per month for 4 months offer (Entertainment package which includes Sky Atlantic) so worth keeping an eye out for offers.

As Jolsa says, you can watch it on Now TV. Sky Atlantic is free though so don't even need a subscription.

Of the many things I could say about this great series, the sound design has really stepped up in Series 3, all the little ambient electronic noises really set the tone

Yes Gomorrah is class. Hints of The Godfather themes of "This is the business we have chosen" and "Just when I thought I was out they pull me back in"

Not seen the new series yet but from the publicity photos for series 5 maybe Ciro is not sleeping with the fishes in the Bay of Naples.....

...explained in the easily missed (now confirmed) film t'immortal/l'immortale/the immortal also on Now TV. Clue in title. Last shot in which pretty much starts the first scene in s5 e2.

Is it dubbed or subbed on TV? Cba with crap dubbing but I'd gladly listen in Italian with subs

Similar to Suberra?

Italian and Russian is subtitled.

I mix it up with Suburra, and keep expecting Samouri to walk in...

(Gennario pops up in the most recent Fargo with Chris Rock etc, doing it in English and is pretty good. Playing a sicilian gangster so quite a stretch from a Neapolitan.)

I managed a couple of seasons, but it's like watching Friends after Seinfeld.

Yeah, it covers roughly the same ground but it's tosh by comparison.

Subtitles, thank christ. There's a bit in the making of where they show American and a few other dubbed versions - it looks (sounds!) bleedin terrible. One nationality seems to still have the original voices, just quietly under the dubbing. How can you lose yourself in something that constantly reminds you it's dubbed? Weird!

It's subbed, and it's an awesome show. Was hooked from the first episode.

i saw the first series years ago when it first came out, after watching the movie. never bothered with subsequent seasons until now.

watched the first again over crimbo and just finished series 2.

its amazing. but F-me its bleak!! back end of season two is some of the most shocking/depressing TV ive seen!

people thought game of thrones enjoyed killing off main characters!!

Doesn't really count when they can be resurrected at the whim of a scripwriter though.

I'll have to look up that Immoral film now I've finished this.

It's the cinematography that got me through the whole thing. Italy is such a lovely country, but they made it look like a complete crap-hole. I'm sure those massive concrete blocks of flats are pretty grim, but not the entirety of Naples and it's surroundings!

Some stunning shots of the whole concrete jungle in the final series.
Watch the last one yesterday. Tried to make it last, but now it's all over 😥
