I just started playing a few weeks ago. Thought I’d pick it up easily as I’ve played chess for years. No. Very different game. Go is strategy whereas chess is tactics. A generalisation admittedly but with a fair bit of truth.
British Go Association website has some good links and one of their top tip books (am away from home just now so can’t recall the name) is available online as someone has scanned in every page.
Tempted to try myself OP, so cheers for the links. A good documentary about it called surrounding game on Netflix or prime can’t remember which
