I'm sure I've seen some metal detecting stuff on here in the past, I did ask this on a metal detecting forum but they didn't approve the post as they said it might lead to machine comparisons which they don't like!!
Anyway, just looking at getting my first detector ( I've got a permission sorted, will be used on beaches and fields). I was looking at a minelab vanquish 440 or a xterra pro.
What's the advantage of getting a machine like the xterra pro that just uses one frequenncy at a time over getting something like a vanquish which is using multi frequencies all the time?

The multi freq machines will be a lot more stable on the beach, I went from garret and c-scope machines to a Minelab safari and wish I had done sooner
All I know is - always check your hole.
