Looking to get a new pair of walking boots and just wanted to know if anyone has spotted any deals around or any websites with decent sales on.
I have looked in ultimate outdoors and couldn't see anything I really fancied that wasn't over £100. I looked online at rock and run and they didn't have much either. I also went into Decathlon as my previous boots are from there. I liked these but over budget:

These were pretty comfy and light but questionable wear.

I do wear them quite regularly. Whether it be for walking, cleaning the bikes or going to watch races so waterproof is a must and I would like decent grip. Budget is £80 or under ideally.
Cheers
I think it is these ones (mine are blue though) I've been wearing near daily since June this year for for walking duties;

Comfy, waterproof, not too heavy, decent grip for walking the dog up the hills of an evening and pretty cheap. Not much more to say really.
For boots you *have* to try them on.
We have a big Tiso nearby that has good sales, and also lots of ex-display. I picked up £200 Salomon X-ALp Mid GTX's for £80 - and more importantly they were the ones that fitted the best.

Nope.
Bought a pair of Scarpa on a PSA over 5 years ago on here, 55 quid, best boots I've ever had. They look like their a month old as well!.
I get what you mean about trying them on. I fall pretty well between a 44 and 45 EU normally so can go up or down without too much of a problem. Didn't seen those Scuff, or I may have discounted them for some reason. Will have another look if I pop back in though.

Currently wearing the shoe version of these from mountain warehouse. Plenty waterproof and very comfy , prefer the ankle mobility of a shoe than a boot myself and wear them for 4-5 hours hard walking five days a week (postie).
Mountain warehouse don't like me much though as they have a 5000 mile guarantee on their Vibram soled footwear and I'm ripping my way through the soles in around 1000 . I can hear the groan as I approach the store every 6-7 weeks with receipt and boxed worn out shoes 😂
For boots, more than any other bit of walking kit, I'd ignore offers and get a pair that fit you well.
I have been wearing a pair of these and they're great!

You've been lucky then, I would certainly recommend trying them on with the typical thickness of socks you're likely to wear. Make sure they're comfortable and don't rub. There's nowt worse than blisters when you're a long way from home!
I buy my running shoes online too, and they'll do plenty miles, under greater load than walking boots, must be lucky there as well eh? 😊

You're probably just fortunate in having an average sort of foot shape that'll work with most lasts like me rather than being 'lucky' per se. I can pretty much get away with anything that's not extremely narrow/low volume or massively broad, particularly in the heel. Salomon, Mammut, AKU, Hanwag are all good with me. Ditto the Euro Keen stuff, Scarpa, Zamberlan etc.
That said, the Hanwag last is a better fit for me than pretty much anything else. But the more of an outlier your foot shape is, the more important it is to try footwear before buying.
Agree BWD re foot shape etc.
Tbh worst case scenario, it's a fiver to send back a pair, not the end of the world. Just saying what works for me and loads of other folks.
I just ordered a pair of Brashers from MIllets - down to £75 from £150, but I also found another 15% off voucher online which brought them down to £66 delivered. Worth the gamble of having to return them at that price.

I've been struggling with a pair of Scarpas which destroy the backs of my heals and have finally given up on them.
I had them fitted at Tiso, walked all around the shop, tried their plastic rock they have for testing boots and they felt great. Went out and they give me nasty blisters. Persevered thinking they would bed in but nope. Tried everything, one pair of socks, two pairs of socks, 1000 mile socks, changing insoles, using two insoles to lift my feet, umpteen different lacing patterns etc etc but no good.
Borrowed a pair of Meindl from a friend and they were a delight to wear.
Sometimes you are just unlucky.
Go Outdoors own brand OEX Vpper Trek about £80 I think. Great boots. I was very surprised.
